As Jason Cripps has said before, we can always trade back into the first round of future drafts.
If we get to picks 13 and 14 and there are two really good talents we like still on the board, I'd be ok with us swapping our future first with GWS.

Not really, if we trade next year's into this year - at best we'll have only one 1st round pick next year (if we are able to trade the 2023 pick to get into 2022). If not, we'll have to get another first round pick by trading a player.

If we keep next year's pick, and trade 2023 to get into 2022, we'll have 2 first round picks without giving away players.

If Luko is coming, it'll take 2 first rounders. The questions if the "If" and the list managers are better placed to know that. All I was saying was if there's any chance he's coming, then we gotta keep the 2022 first round. If not, more than happy to trade it and claim another one this year

Why would we pick him without a bid? Could let him get through would go straight on our rookie list.

I agree, but that's what the article shows - all the other bids he sees coming are acknowledged, eg he has Adelaide bidding on Windghager at 36, but matched by St Kilda. Draft night pick swapping will throw most of these phantom drafts out though.

Not sure what I'm seeing M8 but I don't see Adelaide bidding on windghager at 6?

EX-NORTH Melbourne midfielder Trent Dumont could receive a lifeline from Port Adelaide.
Dumont was delisted by the Roos this year after 113 games in seven seasons, including being a member of the leadership group in 2020.
The 26-year-old failed to find a new home as a delisted free agent, but he has spoken to the Power and could still join the club.
"We follow all South Australians in the system. We have spoken to Trent Dumont, but whether he does make it onto our list, and how that happens, depends how the draft plays out," national recruiting manager Geoff Parker said on Tuesday.

Parker mentioned prospects Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera and Josh Sinn as potential options for their first pick at No.12, while they are also expecting a bid for father-son Jase Burgoyne to come in the second half of the draft.

What happened with Trent ?
We delisted Trent- the week before Jase and Port had to decide if they would commit to each other. After a moments hesitation they did. Rumoursofwinter is correct- once we nominate Jase for the draft, we must take him with our last pick. With Trent we nominated him as a rookie, meaning we couldn’t match in the draft itself. Once the National Draft was over, and no one took Trent, Trent became a Port rookie automatically.

Not many seem keen on Wanganeen with our first pick? Is it just because it is very likely he won't be there, most likely Essendon taking him the pick before?

For me it’s just the similarity with Burgoyne as a player type that we will already be getting. Skinny, predominantly outside, good kick, a bit laconic. I would be more than happy to take him otherwise, I just feel we need to take a different player type.

Going by all those who claim to have the inside word and by what our guys are saying, it is looking very much like:

Sinn at #14
Burgoyne match
Dittmar with a late pick
Dumont and Mayes as rookies

Given the interest flagged in Dittmar and Dumont, it looks like we are more likely to take Sinn than Goater. That’s ok- I’d take Goater but Sinn also has a very high ceiling. I could live with that.

That leaves one pick for the mid season draft which we will have to keep in case one of our two ruckmen goes down.

I still don’t know why we promoted Frederick. It means that our maximum list for 2022 is 42 instead of 43. We don’t have another NGA to add to our list. There must be logic in the move of Freddy onto the main list, but I don’t see it.

Let the national broadcaster choose your player for you:

Replying to my own post.....ego driven.
But I was interested in a late pick developing ruckman. We will have need of one in 3-4 years.
The ABC site suggests Jordan Lukac from WWT.
Seems a bit small for a ruckman at 196cm, but he is only young.
Is much known of him?

It does seem like it's going to come down to Sinn, Wanganeen-Milera or Hobbs. Not sure how I'd feel about Hobbs to be honest!

Given our current gameplan and the fact that we have only won one game this season when we lost the contested ball count, you would say Hobbs would be the player Hinkley would give his left nut to get.

Personally I would prefer skills over a pure inside bull. We need to develop a game that doesn't just rely so purely on contested ball IMO. An inside mid who can consistently move the ball on accurately or with speed would seem to be the priority to me. Which is stating the obvious. Whoever is the best in that role that is available at our first pick I would be fine with.

I still think Butters can fill this role well if he gets another season without injury. There are others. Amon, possibly, Duursma, even Jones is a possibility. Even Powell Petter can be explosive if he gets his act together and gets a chance. Not starting Drew on the bench would be a big step up too.

RICHMOND national recruiting manager Matt Clarke says there are four players in line to be taken with its first selection at Wednesday night's NAB AFL Draft.
Clarke said the Tigers, who currently own pick No.7 which will likely be pushed out to No.9 following father-son bidding, would keep a simple strategy.
Speaking on AFL.com.au's NAB AFL Draft Countdown, Clarke agreed one of Josh Gibcus, Jye Amiss, Josh Ward or Ben Hobbs would likely become a Tiger.
