Oh well Twomey finished his streak with 11 from 11.

He had us taking Sinn at 14 not 12, didn't anticipate that trade.

Sinn sounds like Rozee in that interview.
My bad it was 9 out of 9.

Freo took Neil Erasmus also from Subiaco at 10 and Twomey had fellow Subiaco player Matthew Johnson at 10 who still hasn't been picked up at end of day 1 drafting.

Twomey had WCE taking Erasmus at 12. Were they or Essendon at 13 really interested in taking Sinn before us??

Alot of people here having a sook about how much we gave up for Sinn but realistically here he's a top 5 talent and with what has gone out the door in Lienert and Hartlett across half back he's the perfect selection. His offensive running will allow DBJ a bit more of a defensive role which is what he's best at. A tantalising combination of Sinn and Jones will be huge for us. His work even off a wing will allow Bergman to shift into the middle too which will be another positive. Given we targeted Dawson in the offseason I must say I'm a million times happier with Sinn than Dawson. On the list. Skinner coming in for depth too. Don't really understand the anger from people posting here. Sinn will be a jet and a wonderful addition to the starting 22 come round one if he's fit. People saying Hobbs will be better is valid but Dumont will fill that midfield depth issue and allow us to focus on Butters, Rozee and Bergman in the middle who I think will overall have better careers anyway as midfielders.

Only hole left is a small forward and I'll be beyond stoked with an incoming group of Sinn, Burgoyne, Skinner and Dumont plus a small forward. Definitely an improvement on what we had this year.

Bombers and Brisbane.

Love the pick of Sinn (IF HE PLAYS MID), hate how we got there though.

Pick 18, Ladhams and 2nd in 2022
Turns into Sinn.

In terms of draft points, that effectively means we paid the price of about Pick #2 for Sinn. That's just insanely bad trading.

Recruiting team trying to match our insanely bad coaching?

For the bed-wetters. We obviously don't rate Johnson and Sinn and Hobbs would have been off the board by 14. We dealt to ensure we got our target. Honestly if that means giving up a second rounder so be it.
The justification from the Hinkley Stan’s/pro anything port do group for the Ladhams trade was that we did this shocking trade to upgrade the pick to allow us to get the player we wanted. Which turns out was completely untrue. I would say west coast probably would had traded pick 12 for our original pick 18 and next years 2nd rounder meaning the whole Ladhams trade was meaningless. In the end this looks really bad because the Ladhams trade was a balls up.

I dont know why the hate... Welcome to the club Sinny!!!

I'm no draft expert and I'll be honest and I don't watch much below AFL besides SANFL. But Sinny has so much potential and his perfectly weighted kicks, speed, skill.

Rather get him than Essondon 'potentially' getting him even with Ladhams/future pick 2.

There must be a reason why Johnson fell below the top 20 too!

I’m a fan of Sinn and clearly he was our number 1 target and I trust ports recent drafting so keen to have him

But god damn this recruiting department love defenders. Considering we finished the season and majority of people said we need more mids and trade period and night 1 of draft night has gone and we have obtained a key forward and a HBF is pretty weird.

Turns into Sinn & future 3rd.

There's no real hate for Sinn.

Just the fact that he's now cost us the equivalent value of about pick 3-5.

That's a huge price tag for a guy we nabbed at 12.

Which might decrease the cost to about pick 3-5, which is a huge cost for a guy we got at pick 12.

Also again limiting ourselves without a 2nd next year, is a huge concern.

This pick needs to pay off big time, we've invested as much into this as any pick in a long time.

Account for the future 3rd round and it might be a bit less but nevertheless, imo he was a top 7 player in this draft and has the most upside in this draft too

Interesting how after the top 3 or 4 pure mids are gone, the rest often seem to slide. Remember back to 2018 when we were all cursing the club for missing out on pure mids Hately and RCD? Much happier with Butters and Duursma now. Maybe it is that many of the better performed colt midfielders are able to perform well purely on workrate, grunt and size.

Whereas those players with a bit of zip or x-factor tend to play forward or off half back in juniors where they can win matches through mismatches and relatively poorly organised defensive/offensive systems. Many of the best mids of the past 10 years-- Ablett, Dangerfield, Hodge, Fyfe, Bontempelli, Gray, Martin-- would not have been considered pure mids at all in their respective drafts.

Guess we are all still burnt from the Moore-Pittard-Jacobs triple down gut punch of burnt first rounders. Though it does seem fairly universal on most club boards that the 'flakey flanker' pick is despised over the pure midfielder who is idealised as the next Scott Pendlebury or Patrick Cripps.

There are reasons why the club wanted Ladhams out. Reasons which may never come into the public landscape. Just trust the recruiting department who've had repeated success

Im very happy with Sinn. The price is irrelevant the player is what matters and if he lives up to expectations he will be exactly what we have been missing for the past decade
That's like going to buy a car you decide you really want, you can get for $10k, but you throw $20k at the deal just to make sure you get it.

The car might be amazing, it might be what you wanted, but you still spent $10k extra, which could well have been invested into another little gem.

There's really no way around this. Sinn is a nice pick, looks like a solid player and I love his speed. However the trading that got us to the outcome of Sinn is incredibly poor on many levels.

In terms of draft points, to jump up 100 points tonight, we gave up about 500 draft points. We didn't just overpay a little, we paid a shit tonne. All of this on the back of the fact that we got a terrible deal for Ladhams in trade period.

To be sitting here knowing we secured Sinn with pick 12, but paid the equivalent value of about pick 3-5 is a really, really, really, poor trading effort.

I haven't detected any anger, or hate for the drafting of Sinn, just some posters querying what he cost as opposed to what he may, or may not bring to the table, and making what I believe were reasonably relevant comparisons.

I'm obviously a silly campaigner for thinking those who posed those questions were being reasonable, so I attempted to give myself an upper cut but somehow I missed my lantern jaw by `that much'. ;)
