Jesus I have 3 in this. Enjoyable football ahead, hopefully.

Sydney FC obviously but very proud of my home town MtDruitt rangers making it and I’ve always liked Blacktown.

South Melbourne teams of old probably had a chance, but this current iteration, nah.
Sydney Olympic V Sydney FC is a clash and a half.
Adelaide Olympic are doing shocking so expecting them out of the Cup early, but Adelaide City should provide something against the AL teams.
Western better knock out the Jets for us.

Devonport got the worst draw possible. Away to the leaders of Victoria, Avondale. Even an A-league side would have been easier(and more interesting) as at least that would have been played in Tassie on a cold Tuesday night at Valley Road, Devonport

The FA has confirmed that going forward games will be played on weekends and there will be a new name for the competition from 2022 (I don't think they will go with the FA cup for some reason).

The Australian Football Cup, The A.F Cup?
I like the weekends idea particular in the opening rounds during the A-League preseason.

Definitely think there was some good old fifa drawn tinkering (the AFL would be proud).

But love that we have some new school v old school clashes.

South Melbourne V City - that will pack the lakeside stadium out.

Already making excuses, are they?

When doesn't smfcmike come up with excuses? He's used every excuse under the sun when it comes to bagging the A-League can not come to give it any credit at all and keeps referring it to McFranchiese.
Yet South Melbourne somehow are the pillars of football in Australia because you know History and traditionally ethnic! He just can't let it go! Everyone had had enough of the old NSL it had ran its course, Australian society had moved on, the Game at the time needed change if not then it would have happened eventually! I feel for a lot of South Fans and I do hope one day that they can join the highest level of professional football in this country again.
But for fans and bitters like smfcmike they can all GAGF!

100% to all this. It's these Greeks that ruin the club, thinking the club is bigger than this League, but they need to live in reality - they just drew at home to Green Gully and are mid-table.

I'm still bitter when they tried manipulating the media and bullying the Nix to hand over their licence. I support South for the club, not the fans. The fans can all GAGF as far as I'm concerned.

This is still relevant after 3 years:

South Melbourne vs City will be on the 29th of August. With the Glory/victory playing off in the 8th of August. No surprises with the nsw games being not announced as of yet.

With games on 10 and 10Play

An Update on the scheduling...

FFA Cup 2021 match schedule to be re-advised

Please be advised that due to varying COVID-19 conditions, health orders and protocols across Australia, fixtures for the FFA Cup 2021 will be readvised over the coming weeks.
Regrettably, due to the current lockdown in Victoria, Wednesday evening’s FFA Cup 2021 Round of 32 opener between Hume City FC and Port Melbourne Sharks SC at ABD Stadium in Broadmeadows, Victoria has been postponed.

Update... some movement at least.

FFA Cup 2021 Round of 32 set for September 14 start

  • FFA Cup 2021 Final Rounds set to commence on September 14 with National Premier Leagues (Queensland) v A-League clash
  • Five fixtures to be played in Queensland (3) and Western Australia (2) now scheduled, with further Final Rounds and Playoff fixtures to be advised in due course
  • All FFA Cup 2021 Final Rounds matches to be broadcast exclusively live and free on 10 play
The FFA Cup 2021 Round of 32 is set to begin on September 14, with Football Australia fully committed to completing the competition in 2021.
While lockdowns in various States due to COVID-19 has pushed back the original start date of the FFA Cup 2021, Football Australia has remained flexible in scheduling the Final Rounds, with the intention of seeing the trophy be lifted this year.

The FFA Cup Final, which was originally scheduled for 16 October, has now been pushed back to later in the year (date to be determined) to accommodate the rescheduling of the Final Rounds.

With restrictions recently being lifted in Queensland and Northern Territory, the Round of 32 will begin in Queensland on Tuesday, 14 September when Peninsula Power host Brisbane Roar in an exciting National Premier Leagues (NPL) v A-League tie at Moreton Daily Stadium in Redcliffe.

Edge Hill United v Gold Coast Knights will take place the following night at Barlow Park in Cairns, with Lions FC v Casuarina FC pencilled in for Tuesday, 21 September at Lions Stadium in Richlands.

Recent announcements have also made it possible for matches featuring Western Australian and South Australian clubs to be rescheduled.

Floreat Athena will host defending FFA Cup Winners Adelaide United on Sunday, 26 September in what will be the first ever FFA Cup Round of 32 fixture scheduled on a weekend, beginning the shift to maximise viewing and attendance opportunities for fans of the competition and participating clubs.

In the other fixture, ECU Joondalup will host Adelaide Olympic on Wednesday, 29 September. The venues for both matches will be confirmed in the coming days.

All matches will be available to watch live & free via 10 play, and ticketing information will be available shortly.

Football Australia will continue to work closely with all stakeholders in relation to the remaining Round of 32 and Final Rounds Playoff fixtures, which remain postponed at this time.

Stay tuned to theffacup.com.au and the official FFA Cup social media channels for all the latest information regarding the competition.

10 play isn't looking too bad, clean professional looking graphics, commentators that know what they're talking about.

Look forward to the rest of the FFA Cup ✌ (Hopefully the next rounds are on FTA...)
