I feel like as a gesture of goodwill, considering we've been an Aussie club for 2 seasons we should be able to compete in the ACL But yeah that's a big 'IF' in beating Melbourne

There is a thought that the FA wanted the game on the Saturday but Western are playing at aami. Also heard a rumour/suggestion that it will be known as the Australia cup.

Still don’t like it! could have played it as a double header if they were smart, would have even helped WU’s crowd..
yeah the name change to Australia Cup was posted a while back.

Edit: actually scratch that just found out WU is playing City so a double header wouldn’t be ideal.

still would prefer it in Melbourne somewhere lakeside maybe.. anyway mute point now.

Wouldn't mind seeing this played at Falcons Park Morwell. With the right promotion could easily see a crowd of 6k + down there. Or if in Melbourne play it at Kingston Heath. Why play in Geelong when that's a clear target market for WU?

As you would be aware, last Wednesday 19 January it was prematurely announced that our FFA Cup semi-final against Wellington Phoenix FC would be played at GMHBA Stadium in Geelong on Saturday 29 January.

The three possible scenarios for the host city are:

• If Gosford is drawn, then the FFA Cup Final will go to Gosford.
• If Melbourne is drawn, then the FFA Cup Final will go to Melbourne on the condition that Melbourne Victory beat Wellington Phoenix.
• If Melbourne is drawn, and Melbourne Victory lose to Wellington Phoenix, then the final will be played in Gosford.
