Dude you need to either disguise your trolling better or stay off the industry board.

They both had similar career paths - both employed as outside consultants (Abdo with Deloitte and Mclachlan with Acccenture0.

Abdo was literally promoted from within the NRL. Just like Mclachlan. And everyone knows that Vlandys runs the show at the NRL.

Fun fact: the year Abdo started even going to Rugby League matches, Mclachlan turned down the job of CEO of the NRL (and Liverpool)

Abdo is a Chartered Accountant & Gil is a lawyer by qualification, fwiw, both hold CEO gigs.
V'Landys is more hands on than Richard Goyder (what does he do - chief rubber stamper?)

If someone wants to be a darling and buy the Eagles/Swans reports that would be lovely.
Still waiting for Port/GWS to lodge

Im broke as this week lol

Interesting claim from Gillon in his speech last night that the AFL is in its strongest financial position in history. Unsure how he came to that conclusion after 60 million in losses the past 2 years, did the AFL have some other massive debt hanging over their heads we didn't know about which has now been paid back?

Its not all about immediate losses and profits.

Interesting, I posted elsewhere how the whole virtue signalling around clubs getting out of pokies is costing a lot and doesn't make sense as the industry is inundated with all other types of gambling advertising etc anyway.

The_Wookie do you have any insight into my questions on the 2021 financial report above? I respect your opinion on this, so have been awaiting your thoughts 👍

The Matthew Tripp who visited Gil is also Exec Chair of Melbourne Storm.

My apology for not ponying up the $s.

All good my dude. At least the number of reports i had to buy this year is down from 7 to 4 with Adelaide and Freo issuing them free and someone else getting the Swans one for me. $300 bucks a year gets real old real fast lol

Sorry mate what's this mean?

You really need to read up on the subject:

'When Matthew Tripp walked into the office of AFL chief executive Gillon McLachlan in early 2014, he pitched a big vision.
The then boss of an also-ran sports gambling company called BetEasy knew his main competitor, the TAB, was paying the AFL $500,000 a year to be the league’s official wagering partner, and he wanted a piece of it.'

If you were to list the questions you asked of The Wookie, I'm happy to address them to the best of my ability.
Our mod does more than enough for all of us, as I'm sure you appreciate. :thumbsu:
