I thought the news said Melbourne V Hawthorn will be Sat night now.

Na Melb Haw saturday night, Saints v Port Sat arvo.

Channel 7 just announced the following:
1:45 St.Kilda vs Port Adelaide
4:35 Gold Coast vs Western Bulldogs
7:25 Melbourne vs Hawthorn

Well good. Nothing like border restrictions and TV contracts to force the AFL to schedule properly.

Not great news for my kids tho. Won’t be staying up that late.

All of the players and staff members have since undergone a COVID-19 test and returned a negative result.

Essendon, Collingwood, GWS, Hawthorn, North Melbourne, St Kilda, Sydney and the Western Bulldogs have all been caught up in the drama...

Hearing Bulldogs vs Melbourne likely going to be next Saturday night now.

Not sure how they do that. What happens to Melb vs GC and WB vs Adel games? Adel and GC scheduled to play other teams in Round 20. They’d almost have to re-write the remainder of the fixtures for every round.

Can’t see that happening either. There’s a lot of teams who haven’t played each other. Melb, for example, have to play GC and WCE as haven’t met this year. Was easy last year as every team just played each other once. Redoing the fixtures this late is a jigsaw I wouldn't want to attempt. More likely matches involving teams who have players affected have their game shifted to the Bye before finals and Bye next week. Either that or move the whole Bye round to next week.

Yeah. Ok. So when they did the fixture in November last year they scheduled those games so they could swap them around knowing players would be exposed to a Tier 1 exposure site in early July. Seems legit.

No, they clump teams together so that they'll all play the same teams in consecutive weeks, happens all the time when possible.
