Indigenous Round has been relegated to a bye round?

Fixture for Round 11 and 12 are out. They are both considered Indigenous Round.

Port play Freo on the Sunday Twilight fixture on May 30. Round 12 is our bye.

Melbourne v Bulldogs gets the Friday night treatment, then Melbourne and Brisbane in Darwin, which are actually good fixturing so good figure.
* me. Why bother placing nice with the AFL when not only do they * us on the PB's, we're 3rd last year (minor premiers), 3rd this year, 3rd best crowds so far this year, yet still getting the arse Sunday twilight game.

Yeah but to be fair to the AFL if they gave the twilight game to Eddie he would have whined so...

How many friday nights did we get last year when we were undefeated all season?

Indigenous PBs?
We could pitch it that the white bars represent every white player in our 150yr history and the black bars representing the black guys... nothing to do with the prison bar guernsey whatsoever - just black and white guys standing side by side in absolute unity!

I think you’re on to something here Boxx. We’re overlooking a great opportunity. We could refer to the colours as ‘ebony’ and ‘ivory’, and how we ‘playing together in perfect harmony’. 😛

We could also use political tactics and label anyone who objects to us wearing it including Eddie, other clubs and the AFL administration as ‘racist’. They would whither like a lettuce in the hot sun.

Whilst made somewhat but not entirely in jest the general model has shown to be successful and used by both sides of the political spectrum (though this is NOT intended to be a political treatise or invoke a political discussion) - we just need to adopt and apply the basic model for our own purposes.

1. Create and adopt a morally superior narrative
2. Identify/create an enemy
3. Allocate objection to the narrative to the ‘enemy’ and demonise any objection to the narrative
4. Market the hell out of steps 1 and 3

Note(s): Steps 1 and 3 don’t have to be true they just have to have an element of truth that resonates and can be marketed successfully.
The fewer words the narrative can be expressed in the more truthful and impactful it will be perceived to be.

Another Sunday Arvo screams box office 🤦
It's our first proper s**t Sunday game really. Sunday night ANZAC day before a public holiday was great, essentially like playing a Saturday night. Our other Sunday game against Collingwood is on national TV which is good for the club. Port Freo was never going to get a good time slot and I think it's better than the 12:40 game tbh. We really haven't got much to complain about in terms of fixturing for 2021 so far.

Port president publically blasts the AFL for being disrespectful. Next day, fixtured for Sunday twilight.
People saying that we will only be penalised four points if we wear the PBs without AFL approval take note.

As an "interstate" team we have to earn the right to good time slots. Slamming the AFL on the PBs issue means will are unlikely to ever do enough to earn that right.
