When are the AFL getting crowd capacities for the season ? Anyone have any idea what that's expected to be announced ?
If it's anything like announcing list sizes it will be at some point in round 4.When are the AFL getting crowd capacities for the season ? Anyone have any idea what that's expected to be announced ?
That's kinda how a global pandemic works though - things not staying under control. And we presently have no active cases outside of quarantine - yes sh*t can escalate fast as we saw over Christmas, but if things remain under control there won't be an issue. Plus vaccinations will start right around the time the season does. I don't foresee much getting in the way of being able to attend games this season.

An active case, anywhere, will give old mate license* to shut WA down until further notice, re: that State. It may or may not cause havoc with fixtures.
*by 'license', I mean 'on a whim'.
Not they, just him - one man - the premierShame Tassie gets our pre season game when they didn't want a bar of hosting us in a hub last season. Instead we had to run away in multiple away hubs in NSW, WA and SA.

The Premier is trying to force the AFL into having a Tassie team so is going to make things difficult for the AFL.Correct and it's the Tassie Government we have the deal with is it not ? And he's the head of the Government.
that is a bit of a problemHave to wonder if our 4 replacement games will quietly be stashed in the too hard basket.
With 50% capacity and ballots for home members, hard to see how they organise equal entry rights to another club's home game.
Our away games in Melb -
Essendon (Docklands) - Nope
Geelong (MCG) - Nope
St Kilda (Docklands) - Nope
Carlton (MCG) - Unlikely
Melbourne (MCG) - Maybe
Richmond (MCG) - Nope

Geelong won’t sell all their tickets. Crowd two years ago was 66k and many people are still reluctant to go to sporting events. We will get 5k - 10k allocated for that one, 10k for Carlton, and 20k for Melbourne and hopefully by Richmond capacity is increased.Have to wonder if our 4 replacement games will quietly be stashed in the too hard basket.

I hope that the allotment of MCC and AFL members is going to work on an enrolment type system. If MCC and AFL members want to go then they should have to nominate they want them by a certain day and if they don't they then get offered to home team members, then away team members and then the general public. Would be a bit hard to navigate - but the AFL and clubs owe it to members to ensure that whatever capacity cap is actually filled and that AFL/MCC members don't stay at home while members are being shut out.
They will have to to sit in covid separated blocks. Tennis centre cricket already operating this way

MCC have been told that the reserve crowd limit will be the same as whatever the rest of the ground is (currently 50%) and everyone wishing to attend needs to book a seat (at no extra cost).I hope that the allotment of MCC and AFL members is going to work on an enrolment type system.
