hes never averaged over 100 so unless you are predicting a breakout season from him where he averages say 105+ then no way is he a lock imo. far from it. and if the team builder thingos' prices are even remotely accurate then hes not even that cheap to make you much money to be cash generation. i dont expect heeney to be a top 6-8 forward and hes not cheap enough to likely make enough to be a stepping stone so its a pass for me. he could be next season's petracca but that is just predicting a breakout player nowhere near a lock. is he moving into midfield to play in there more next season? role change? as a pies fan i think its worth mentioning that de goey may well be doing a petracca-like role change moving into midfield to play more there, hes another one to watch eh?

Only 3 listed Forwards averaged 105+ last season.

He doesn't have to be a 6-8 forward to be a worthy starting pick. He should finish there abouts (6-8) though.

De Goey. No

DeGoey is certainly not on my list of considerations. He’d have to significantly change his body shape and fitness levels to become a majority of the time mid. He is a 9-5 footballer and as Petracca showed, changing that mindset will go a long way.
Have a look at the numbers for both. Petracca only started playing mainly mid this year. But had about 45% of games 20 possessions or over before this year. DeGoey goes at closer to 20%.
If he gets fit and is played mainly mid he’ll be a good pick. But I’m not convinced at this stage.

Looks like I'm going light up forward this year, as I'm spending too much money elsewhere (namely down back and in the middle)

Heeney, Greene and De Goey are close to locks for me, at least 2/3

If Heeney stays fit, he'll score well
If Greene stays fit, he'll score well
If De Goey stays fit, he'll score well

More to De Goey: He will line up at the first centre stoppage in round 1, bank it. The lazy **** has been training since the season finished, think he finally realised he needs to work hard to make it as an AFL player, especially a midfielder. Looks like he's dropped a few kegs already. End of the day, it's now or never for him. I like taking a risky POD and I like to have a Pies player in my starting side, so he's in.

Probably Danger, Dunkley, Dusty or Marshall are F1

If...I've been waiting for this to happen for at least 2 years.

These kents can never put it on the park.

why start him then if you already know that he probably wont average 100 based on history? isnt it better to get people like marshall, dangerfield and dunkley? unless he is gonna play full time mid i dont see why you should get heeney. de goey would be a similar selection, like heeney if he moved into majority midfield minutes next season he could be a good selection. in fact if you've seen footage of him training he looks absolutely slim and shredded already and tearing it up. i believe he went back to training at least 2-3 weeks earlier than everyone else in an attempt to get himself into fantastic shape to play more midfield next season.

heeney isnt even remotely a lock, could be a good selection though.

Yeah tend to agree.

Heeney gets stuck up forward too much for my liking which is bloody frustrating as an owner.

If he was going to play full time mid next year then I'd be all over him like I would with Rubys puppies.
yep if hes definitely gonna play majority midfield then hes probably a good selection but just based off his scoring history hes never averaged 100 so for me hes a gamble as a bargain premo selection and far from being a lock.

But I do have Marshall, Dangerfield & Dunkley as well as Heeney

Not a lot of forwards are going to average 100+ this year. 94-97 is an excellent return on a 450k investment, especially on that line. And like I already said, he doesn't need to average 100+ to be good selection.

Heeney has averaged 94-98 over the past 4 seasons playing mostly forward. He doesn't need to play permanent midfield to maintain or even slightly improve on that average, where as de Goey's SC relevance is completely dependent on a perma move to the midfield, so it's not a similar selection.

You're a Collingwood supporter and I get that you're pumped at the possibility of De Goey killing it as a midfield beast but it's still early days, he could end up more Stringer than Petracca.

Heeney is a good pick at that price if he avoids injury he is a sure thing to go 90+ imo which probably makes him a top 6 forward.

Strongly considering him at F3 behind Marshall and Dunkley.

I've currently got him at F3 myself behind those two & Danger in the Mids.

Got to find some value where you can especially if running with Gawndy

That's the same way I've got them lined up.
Dangerfield in the mids as I'm not keen on anyone other than Mitchell around his price.
Franklin a placeholder at F4.

I like that, I'm not starting Danger though as I reckon he will be gettable cheaper.

Most of the top enders can probably be got cheaper at some point. I guess that’s where looking at the draw comes into play. Whose most likely to be cheaper first Lloyd, Danger, Neale, Gawn, Danger?

Yeah of course they will but you can't start all the big guns and of those you mentioned Danger is the most likely to drop in price quickly imo. He always seems drop in price.

The easier draw doesn't mean much for him either as Chris Scott will probably rest him if Geelong are winning.

I’ve got him at F3 also.
Behind Danger and Marshall.

Zorko will be a watch and see for me.
Still considering starting with Dusty.
After having a good look at different stats I've currently got Danger & Sidebottom then Heeney F3. If he stays fit I think he could easily average 100+ especially if buddy comes back in. I think Danger should be a lock with 2 big forwards now he should only go down there for a rest I think he will be 120+
