What an outstanding final quarter. Cool under pressure. That McCluggage, he's very impressive
Agreed. That was just a complete accident. Worth the free but that’s all.Karma for the lions. By the way hope Cameron gets off tried everything to avoid the contact unlike danger
Depends how you look at it. If they hung on it was because of himLOLingwood
Grundy's contract gonna fu** em raw for years. Fancy paying a MILLION dollars a year, locked in for SEVEN years, for a ruck...
They have a much better midfield than us. They are a better side than us. They have a better midfield than the pies. They won because of that. Grundy doesn’t play and they probably smash them. That really only feeds my point though Plugger.
Grundy dominated every possible stat and the result was to get within a kick of a team that hasn't been home in over a week, a team with half a dozen kids, two of which were Grundy's opponents.
This is what we need to look at while RoMa and Ryder are out.
Play a mobile option, play a tall athletic option. Concede the HO and just shark the tap.
The worst thing a ruck can do is make a 50-50 contest at the ball up. Much better for the mids to know you are losing the tap every time and get proactive with that info.
That's Marshall with us an extra midfielder who goes forwardInteresting that Buckley spent half his post match talking about HO being largely irrelevant and that Grundy's value is as an extra midfielder who follows up.
Highlighted that the Lions set up deliberately knowing that Grundy was winning the tap.
Grundy is a very good player but his contract is an anchor on that list & it's going to drag them down for a while before they can properly build back up.
Well they have a Brownlow medalist. Yes Steele came third but Neale has many points on the board. Lyons is a star. Still one of the most baffling decisions ever by Gold Coast. He has our second best covered. Zorko has our second best covered and mcclaugage has all our wingers covered even billings. Only my opinion. On rucks I think everyone knows how overrated I think they are but all I’m saying was last night wasn’t Grundy fault. Clearly their best player. Maybe Buckley’s tactics weren’t great. Instead of palming it down to the opposition players who are better than his why not occasionally belt the ball forward. They have signals and chats before most ball ups so surely but not every time belt it 20 metres forward. He could have easily don’t that last night. You rekon Brisbane have a much better midfield than us?
Harsh on our group...
I can certainly see the point of "No Grundy = Smashed". I think the money is much better spent in other areas of the ground.
Buckley would say that though ......................................since they lost.Interesting that Buckley spent half his post match talking about HO being largely irrelevant and that Grundy's value is as an extra midfielder who follows up.

Given that the full back can now run 20 metres out from the goal square and then kick it another 50 metres to a 50/50 contest on the boundary line on the wing - why the hell would you mess around with with short passes to the back pocket and the across hbf?
