Why is Coniglio always 3 plus weeks for the last 3. 8 to 10 week injury is now at 10 with still 3 to 4 to go based on history it could be a 16 week injury. Pretty piss poor reporting

We have no idea of the reasons.

No reason to make it up or say it’s shorter than what they think it is.

Because ankle syndesmosis injuries are not simple to manage.

You have such a wide variation of recovery times across the board from players with the injury. Liberatore returned after 4 weeks in 2016, Butters this year has had a setback because of the syndesmosis injury causing nerve damage to the knee and who knows how long he'll be out for. The procedure to treat serious syndesmosis injuries isn't a simple screw in type that other surgeries are. Because of the technique they use, there's more of a dependency on rehab and recovery, and clearly Cogs recovery isn't so clear cut atm.

Early prognosis
The bye has worked wonders for the Giants with Greene set to be available for the clash with North Melbourne after missing two matches. The superstar forward just has to complete all of the contact work as expected in the main training session on Thursday. Phil Davis (calf) and Matt de Boer (hamstring) are also ready to return after recovering from injuries sustained in round three. Draftee Stone felt his hamstring tighten in a VFL scrimmage and will miss a week. - Martin Pegan

Some big returns coming in.

Daniels back this week

Cogs and Hogan against the Demons

Taylor against the Suns.
This is looking very promising.

Daniels is a big in, in 2 weeks time we will be very close to full strength for a run at the finals.

If we do get there, we will have a very fresh team.

We’ll get there .... with Taylor and Hogan back we are basically a top 4 team and can roll with the big boys

Whitfield will only get better, the young back men have grown in confidence and the ruck situation is the best it’s been in years with the Mummy/Flynn or Briggs/Flynn combo

We have a legitimate path to finish 8.

No one at the Club has given up on Finals.

If we can take 8th from Ninth-mond or FC Tamarama by beating them in the run home it’s going to be a club-defining comeback.

Gee, I’m looking forward to those games.

The real pressure is on them, not us as the media (mistakenly) wrote us off months ago.
