Yeah picks and $$$$
I figure he's going to cost our first at a minimum, and be asking $650+
I don't think he's the right player for us to be spending that at this time.

Jack was the down the liner against the Giants . Presented but didn’t mark and stand out like Levi who can down the line and who’s a good field kick . And can ruck. Keeper for mine .
I rate TDK as a ruck. Just needs a preseason in the weights room.[/QUOTE]Levi's knee is f’ed. Don't think he has
If we're thinking that TDK is a Levi replacement rather than a No.1 ruck, then we need to be looking for a number 1 ruck.
But early to tell.Could not see anyone paying him 800K a year. This is really looking like a bad decision from the club.

But early to tell.
also,are we sure it’s 800 x 6? Or could that be year1?
According to Hutchy it was 800 by 6 but i did wonder if it was one of these front ended deals. But early to tell.

If Charlie, McGovern and McKay were ever fit at the same time another forward ruck is a luxury we couldn’t afford to have on the park, however considering Charlie and Mitch’s injury history it is sad but true that we need another.Yeah, I see him as a ruck too, which is why I think we should be looking for a forward/ruck to replace Levi.
Interesting comment from Leigh Montagna last year:800 average across 6

They’re ‘paying overs’ for Zac Williams, but Carlton’s savvy free agency move was still a ‘masterstroke’

Esava Ratogolea is th perfect Levi replacement..Levi's knee is f’ed. Don't think he has another year in him.

I reckon Kingy is on the money here. Thoughts?

We did get McKay and Curnow but also LOB. Weitering and Walsh were pick one, worth twice us much as the pick we will hold. Abit like if we wanted pick 1 this year it would cost around pick 6 and 10.I see your point but don't agree. Most top 5 draft picks are guns. Most top 10 draft picks even. We took McKay at 10 and Curnow at 12 which was good going. Obviously we got the 2 recent no. 1 picks right too. I don't think Saad was at all a good move at the 8 price plus a heap of salary. Couple that with the recent McGov and Williams gambles and I don't think we can afford to go down that path again.
So, maybe it's just the situation we are in, but I think Cerra spending our forthcoming high draft pick plus a heap of cash on Cerra seems irresponsible. Think he's a good player, but not worth that price, to us, now. Might be one eyed but if you gave me a 50/50 chance to get a young gun like Walsh/Weiters/McKay/Curnow I'd flip the coin rather than take Cerra.
OMac looked a decent Levi replacement in the off-season and could be a good short term solution while we find another option. He’s also very versatile and mobile which I think you need in that role.Yeah, I see him as a ruck too, which is why I think we should be looking for a forward/ruck to replace Levi.
I just dont see it with TDK being a permanent forward, what has he done so far in either AFL or VFL to suggest he could cut it at the top level as an elite (think Aaron Naughton) type forward.. I am yet to see a ruckmen since Paul Salmon who could learn the skills to become a good enough forward to permanently play in that position. TDK needs to be the #1 Ruck... Then we get a forward who can go in the ruck to relieve him..Yeah could get behind this also..
Depending what is available in trade week of course..
Not sure how deep the talent pool is in this year draft, haven't looked into it yet..
But if its pretty even, wouldn't mid swapping our top 5 pick for 2 picks in the first round...
We Still Need
Like the look of Jordan Boyd, we could have found a ripper...
- #1 Athletic Ruck (See TDK as an elite - forward #2 Ruck)
- KPD
- Two way running classy Mids
We've had massive turnover in the last 10 years.
I strangely think that this is the year for the bare minimum ins and outs.
Move on your 5 or 6, bring in a few kids and maybe a moneyball freeagent/trade.
The skeleton of the team is undoubtedly there. It's now about playing to their ability.

If we move him on via trade, the other club would need to agree to pick up his contract in full or they take on part and we would need to pay the balance (ie like Treloar at WBs)
King's agenda is Norf and he will be hoping he ends up there.I reckon Kingy is on the money here. Thoughts?

King's agenda is Norf and he will be hoping he ends up there.
Cerra: Been in the system for 3 years. Has played 68 games, is 21 y.o of age and ready to have a breakout year.
Alternative: Go to draft, select very promising youngster, waste 5 years on them and then realise they are no good because we failed to develop them.
King will be pushing for Cerra to go to Norf.
If Cerra is available then grab him, because he is as good as top 5 pick, or unless there is someone clearly better than him. Might have to pay overs for him, but quality mids are very hard to find.
We are stuck with Williams for 5 more years and McGovern for 2 more. McGovern has not worked out for us and is not the player we need.7 years in the AFL for 78 games. Getting older makes you more injury prone. Why in hell would we be considering moving Williams on after 10 games just because some think we're paying him too much?
Most accept that lower clubs like us need to pay overs for FA's and if he plays in a couple of premierships during his tenure no one, including Hutchy, will be complaining about what we paid. If he doesn't then he will be just like Buddy who hasn't played in a premiership for the Swans and who's pointing to his contract cost now?
Not if he is offered 700K over 5 years, which Richmond will not give him. Norf will have a lot of salary cap space, like we used to.Lol Cerra won't go to North. He'll go to Richmond.
