Not sure what SPS would be worth, maybe between 20 & 30?
Take that pick and use it in a package for a quality player OR just keep it as we don't currently have a 2nd rounder.
We don't need other clubs off-cuts anymore; we have enough of those players.
If we can use 6 & say 25 in this years draft, and use our future 1st selection for Cerra I would be happy. Although in saying that, unless we have a very good player lined up for 6, I'd be happy to give it up (in reality it will be pick 8) for Cerra...but pick 6 alone, nothing more.

I would say we won’t be looking at the deal in isolation. If there’s something that WCE can satisfy us with that will assist with another deal potentially, I can see us doing something to gain elsewhere. Playing chess essentially.
Samo is worth pick 25-30, people throwing picks in the 50s and 60s are basically saying he’s worthless for some reason because he hasn’t turned into an A grader. I’d be looking at Brander but I think you could also ask the question on Rotham and Duggan at the minute being OOC. Perfect age profile for the list. Rotham would actually be a nice acquisition with Marchbank not turning out as planned.

I hope the same - would love the new coach to tell him he's a required player.
I am interested to know why you believe we need to provide the steak knives for Brander. I know he is younger, and obviously key-position, but it could also be argued that he has shown less? Not having a go, just interested.
I guess for the very reasons you mentioned younger and a KPP
Really liked Brander in his draft year, like SPS, has been played out of position, given the likes of Barass, Gov, Edwards, Allen, Kennedy

The problem is SPS will be 24 and have virtually 100 games under his belt before next season starts and teams would still only be basing his selection on potential. As far as I know he has never finished in the top 10 in the B&F and has probably only had 7-8 really good games. People say he is playing out of position but that’s because he isn’t a good enough runner which is vital in the modern game and another reason for him to be cheap. Not being able to force his way into arguably the worse midfield in the league hurts his value big time.
Best case scenario from now imo is that we can convince him to stay.
except that was pick 7 for Jaksch, plus whiley (steak knife) and 19 which we used on Boekhorst.
Brander won’t have value anywhere near that.

West Coast get a poke in the eye, you have them trading a 2nd, Brander (former 1st rounder) and Duggan (Former 1st rounder), for Gov and Sammo.
Gov and Sammo would struggle to get a 3rd rounder each.

Thanks for response - you tell me whether my response to that suggestion was unreasonable. Cerra for Cognilio? - the Fisher suggestion was floated by Ross Lyon a few months ago.

Still not sure why we would trade Gov. Still think we should play him as third tall defender. With Jones and Weitering. Add Williams, Saad and Stocker in teh back pocket I think thats a really solid 6.

I’d do the deal if it were Cerra plus Freo’s future 3rd for Pick 6 and Fisher.
My opinion is anyone suggesting Fisher is worth more than a 3rd rounder is unrealistic.
Same goes for Samo who we will do well to get Pick 29 off West Coast in exchange for.

McGov just isn't going to come good. I just feel it.
Trading now he has a teeency bit of currency. If we play him 2022 and he still spuds it up, can't get on the ground, fails as a converted defender, then it eliminates all doubt and we're stuck with his 2023 contract.
