So with our need for a ruckman, any chance we could bring in Ladhams? The link with Vossy and apparently on the trade table.
I personally would be interested in Powell Pepper too .. got some mongrel about him, young and would add to our midfield depth
If there were two blokes you would have a question marks against in terms of culture it would be these two. However Voss would know them better than any of us. My suspicion is that he would not touch them with a barge pole (particularly Ladhams) but time will tell.

McGov just isn't going to come good. I just feel it.

Trading now he has a teeency bit of currency. If we play him 2022 and he still spuds it up, can't get on the ground, fails as a converted defender, then it eliminates all doubt and we're stuck with his 2023 contract.
I came to the realisation this season watching him play in the 2s for us that that is his level and the stats support it…he has kicked 5 goals in a match twice in his 7 year career both against VFL level teams (Essendon 2016, Carlton 2018).
Totally concur with your comment that this is the season to get rid of him because it’s possible he will have less than zero trade value by the end of next year (think Jono Patton GWS/Hawks style deal to dump him and his salary).

Sam Powell “Pepper Pig” grew up down the road from me where he was a dominant junior due to him size and attack on the ball, and he even acquitted himself quite nicely at WAFL, however at AFL level his skills are really holding him back hence him being in and out of the Port side.

I really struggle to see the need for him if we are getting Hewett (not to mention we already have Cripps and Kennedy (who are already better than him) and Curnow (albeit coming to the end of his career) so we’d certainly have to offload Setterfield if we got him (which I’d be fine with as I think SPP is a better player than Setters).

It’ll be interesting however with Voss’ inside knowledge of Port, if we target any of their fringe players who haven’t been able to establish themselves like SPP, Ladhams, Leinert etc.

Be interesting Ladhams has shown a lot in his short career thus far.
Maybe his baggage is to big to fit on a plane to fly here, get the feeling Port are trying to push him out, like Sydney did with Allir.
We need another good big man going forward the addition of a 23 yo with enormous upside to our list is mouth watering.

Always liked Williams and while he has been slow to come on, but I still rate him

WC might be willing to do that deal, as they are keen on Matthew Johnson and I also rate him top 8
Is brander big enough for CHB pairing with weitering ?
also think we miss that intercepting third tall

Have always liked, Brander, can play both ends as well as on a wing

WC kept him lean to play on a wing, so would need to put on some bulk. With where the game is heading, I would prefer some taller options such as a Ballenden. But at a pinch yes.

Then play Jones as the 3rd tall, as he is quick enough for the role

Beyond that, Doc, Marchbank as 3rd tall interceptors

Leave Stocker in the backline. He's doing really well down there.

Kemp is the one we should be looking to develop into a full time onballer. Can move through traffic nicely and in his draft video he said himself that's where he saw himself playing long term.
I think we could add them both. Stocker as a bull, Kemp as the smooth outside runner after Stocker dishes it out to him 😍

I do have to wonder what will happen with Zac Williams now. Will he be forced to play of HBF permanently? I'm thinking so.

With free agency and the trade period just 7 days away, I thought that I'd have a go at being Nick Austin for the day...

RFA --> Hewett - Sydney won't be matching our offer, don't need to pay picks.

Petrevski-Seton --> Brander + Pick 49 (WCE)

Pick 6 --> Cerra - Should be a simple trade, chuck in pick 49 or 61 if need be.

Pick 25 --> Ladhams + future 3rd rounder (PA)

Take the remaining pick(s) to the ND and draft the best available kids.

An off-season where we acquire Sayers, Cook, Voss, Cerra, Hewett, Ladhams, Brander and a number of assistant coaches is ELITE.

Brander 196cm and 82kgs, a decent size for a key position defender, might just need to put on a bit of muscle.
To give a comparison, Steven May is 193cm but 100kgs.
Lever 195cm and 85kgs.
Interesting, where did you find that? Both the West Coast and AFL websites have Brander at 196cm and 92kgs...

I don't think Ladhams is a player we neccesarily need to be honest.

Also there is questions about his off field antics that makes me think he is not someone we should be chasing.

Marchbank missing is the killer .. been pencilling him in for four years for 0.

People claiming SPS being ahead of Cerra at the the same stage/age

Yeah nah ... anyone with a shred of knowledge can see its an unfair matchup that is won by Cerra ...

But thats what makes the interweb great yeah?

Sorry half cut .... had a BBQ and beers and now Bourbon ...

But I laughed non the less.
