Wow nice increase. Could we realistically have the 3rd highest membership this year? Or atleast top 5?

1. West Coast Eagles — 100,776 (2019 tally: 90,445 | +11.2%)

2. Richmond — 100,420 (2019 tally: 103,358 | -2.8%)

3. Collingwood — 76,862 (2019 tally: 85,226 | -9.8%)

4. Hawthorn — 76,343 (2019 tally: 81,211 | -6%)

The filth are in for another huge decrease from their 2020 number. I think we will beat their total this year/2021.

60K 3 weeks before Xmas :clapping::clapping::clapping:

Wow......great numbers from the club.
Club usually closes shop around the 19/20th, so two weeks to roll in another grand or two.

I don't know what others' numbers are like but we'd be pretty close to he top of the tree, I think.

We have had some incredible jumps in membership numbers lately. On Wednesday we had 54,202. On Thursday we had 58,873. And today we have 60,211. It wouldn’t surprise me if by the time the club closes shop, we are very close go 70,000. Although there will come a point where membership numbers will drop off so 80,000 could be the end total. Just incredible stuff by our supporters.

80K sounds about right.
Target this year was 75K........but covid.

No doubt that with a view to finals, some more will jump on but the platform had been set for jumps the club hasn't seen before.

Up 6,096 since last Tuesday in just 4 days !
Now just 6,825 short of a new club record, maybe around or dare say, before Xmas/New Year?
A lot of those would have been from the AFL club support memberships with the auto renewals on Nov 30.

But as you indicated, the AFL haven't sent all the renewal notices out as yet, so we should expect another spike sometime in Jan 2021 when these are received by the rest of the current members.

Happy days :)

As much as it pains me (😬), I believe you will be bang on.

Every clubs economies are different. Essendon, unlike Carlton sell lots of its memberships in season, it was actually up +3.0% as of March this year on route to 87,000 when COVID hit. It lost those ~20,000 member renewals as a result in 2020. You guys had sold 64,000 or your 67,000 membership by March, driven by the upgrades etc.

Itsa bad time to be facing a shite season on field and club in somewhat disarray (Essendon). This makes recovering those lost 20,000 much harder. It has work to do to recover from 3-4 years of great work to get to 85,000 (2019).
I suspect they’ll try to use 2021 to try and get respect back from its supporters before launching a big drive in 2022 to grow membership again in its 150th year.

Well done so far. You might be driving numbers higher via discounting (upgrades), however you’ll benefit by having them resign at full tire odds in 2022👌

60K already... membership is absolutely smashing it... about to set another membership record by a fair way, happy days...

Done amazingly well lately. Coming off a 16th place finish in 2019 and no football in Victoria in 2020, we managed to beat last years membership number and that is with clubs offering refunds. Now we return for the 2021 membership drive that could actually beat the final 2020 tally by Christmas.

Some kind of effort by club and new joining supporters, rolling along beautifully...
