By this rationale you could rule out the majority of mid pricers people are looking at.
True but Caldwell playing in the guts might average 90-95 which reflects the price difference to Fantasia.
Pay a bit more now but get a bloke who could definitely become a FWD keeper.

Less risk cash wise with Fantasia but way more risk that you end up trading him without making 150k

Interesting its Caldwell I’m thinking of punting for him.

Thoughts on Will Brodie?

Training the house down this summer, beat his PB in the time trial by 30 seconds apparently. Looked good vs Lions the other day. It's probably a make or break season for him as he was put up for trade and there were no takers.

Expect him to play mainly forward so will have the odd big game if he kicks a few goals, but generally low scoring imo.

Priced at 68 he probably doesn't have enough upside to be honest. Caldwell a better option.

Disagree, Caldwell will be a gun player.

I want to fit him into my team but can't unfortunately. 😭
In fairness, I would know him if he walked past me in the street. Could be a great pick. Just dont like Essendon and their players. They generally have let me down in the past. Ridley in my team currently and he has been the recent shining light. Whatcha him crash and burn this year. 🙄

I keep looking at Fantasia. People forget how good he is and now forward in a team that could beat up on a few.

He's in my team

(Which is usually reason to stay away )

Know a few people that work at Port and from all accounts he's been working his ass off since day 1 (he really stood out in the internal trial too )

Finding it very hard to fit in all of the midpricers I want.

Should I drop Phillips to squeeze in Tyson?

Maybe I should drop Clark in the back like, go full primo in defence, and then have all the midfield and forward midpricers on offer.

It’s so hard to decide. I’m like a kid in a candy shop.

Why do you want Tyson that bad?

Looking between $300k to $460k, I reckon you can make a genuine claim for the following blokes:

DEF:
Zilliams, Witherden, Duggan, Clark, Luko, Harmes

MID:
Taranto, Daicos, Serong, LDU, Anderson, Green, Heppell, Sier, Hately

FWD:
Heeney, Greene, Jartin, Langford, De Goey, Bailey, Phillips, Rayner, Cameron, Rozee, Rankine, Caldwell, TMac

Any that I've missed?

I reckon under $350k you can get away with picking them as a stepping stone, but anything above $350k, you need to be confident they'll be a keeper. There would be a bit of leeway in the middle, but down back and up forward, you need to back them in as keepers if you're picking them.

At the moment I have zero mid-pricers, probably the first time ever. If the rookies come, I'll be avoiding them.

Anything under $300k is just a cash cow...
After the preseason matches, this is my updated list:

DEF:
Zilliams (suspended for round 1, don't think it's worth benching him)
Witherden (Hurn will take too many points off him)
Duggan :whitecheck:
Clark :whitecheck:
Luko (inconsistent)
Harmes (butchers the ball, not sure where he fits when other players return)

MID:
Taranto :whitecheck:
Daicos (won't get enough inside time, inconsistent scoring)
Serong ??? (didn't play in the prac matc
LDU :whitecheck:
Anderson (playing outside, won't score enough)
Green ??? (will he get enough time on ball to score well? scored well when given the opportunity on the weekend)
Heppell ??? (got a lot of the ball, but turned it over a lot, might just be rusty)
Sier (no guaranteed spot, been a bit meh)
Hately (not best 22, has work to do, won't play round 1)

FWD:
Heeney ??? (might be spending too much time forward, especially after Mills has moved into the middle and some kids have improved)
Greene :whitecheck:
Jartin (shocking score in the preseason match, too much time in the forward half)
Langford (spending too much time forward it seems)
De Goey :whitecheck:
Bailey ??? (looks like he needs a few goals to score well, doesn't seem to get enough of the ball)
Phillips :whitecheck:
Rayner (poor bloke is done for the year)
Cameron ??? (will kick goals, but he's a KPF, so he'll throw in some shockers)
Rozee (surgery, not playing early rounds)
Rankine (too much time forward, inconsistent scoring)
Caldwell :whitecheck:
TMac (key forward, up and down scoring)

Thoughts? Agree/disagree?
