Coverage starts at 6.30PM on the AFL website and AFL app:

The draft itself starts at 7pm (AEST)

The draft order for the mid-season rookie draft is the reverse ladder order after Round 11, with the number of picks dependent on the number of open list spots. (Spots opened up as LTIs/retirees are put on the inactive list.)

Unless he is seen as a 1st round pick in the ND.

I’m so behind the times but NGA kids inside the top 20 are open slather but F/S are still going to no
Instead club?

Note. Obviously talking about Daicos still finding his way to Collingwood via an early bid

Are there any mid-sized forward types running around? Thinking a depth option for Fritsch getting hurt.

Signorello (Port Melbourne) 6 goals in 2 games
Lambert (Frankston) 7 goals in 2 games
Grace (Central Districts) 11 goals in 4 games
Manual (Claremont) 10 goals in 3 games

Ex-AFL
Billy Gowers (Southport) 11 goals in 2 games
Hosie (Glenelg) 12 goals in 4 games

Anyone rate Bailey Lambert's chances? I haven't seen any of him this year because I've moved inter-state. Apparently he's started the VFL season red hot for Frankston.

Was eligible under F/S with Richmond in his original draft year so I'm not sure how that effects his situation.

Can you nominate as a F/S as a mature age player? Obviously if a club is going to give him a chance in the mid-season draft he'd take that over waiting for the ND and nominating us.

I’m pretty sure one of the Watermans ended up at West Coast as a mature aged F/S few years ago. Jake perhaps was maybe 22/23 when drafted.

Jake was of normal draft age when drafted.

You must be thinking of Jacob Brennan. (Son of Michael Brennan.)

Jake is currently 22. You're thinking of Jacob Brennan.

Further, in 2010, the year Jacob Brennan was picked, he was 20 years old and, therefore, 21 years at the completion of his first season with the Eagles.
In fairness, he didn't play his first game until he was 22.

Interesting that Caleb Poulter has in the space of 2 days on here gone from a spruiked MSD chance to an AFL debut on Saturday

So long as he hasn't been on an AFL list before in any capacity he's still F/S eligible.

im not the biggest fan of super coach point systems, but i do find it interesting to see these results.

There is a real case that Jack Hayes is the best non-AFL footballer right now. I don't know if he would suit any clubs but I would love to see him get a shot.

This is just ridiculous and lazy journalism to just look at numbers without context and throw up some names. Avery is playing the Jack Ziebell role for a team with no hope of getting close to anyone this season. Kitchingman (who's name is Bodie, not Brodie) was playing league pre-season games but has dropped back to colts with Freo players back and is a real outside type too small to make an impact. Farmer (who's at Swan Districts, not Peel this year) played one game against the worst team in the comp. Kemp is playing about as well as he did last year, and Curley is still as inconsistent as ever (also just the one game).

I also don't understand the fascination with overagers dominating junior competitions as these superstars, Luke Foley did it for a full season and West Coast had to turn him into a defender because he couldn't play midfield when he wasn't physically stronger than everyone else on the field. Of the 5 19yo mid-season draftees from 2019 (Dunkley, O'Reilly, Hirst, Mayo, Riordan), 0 are still on a list with 5 games played all up (all from Kyle Dunkley). Meanwhile the older mature age players in Pickett, Noble, Snelling, and Gardner (somehow) who were all playing and dominating league footy in their state leagues are all best 22 or close to it in their respective teams.

It's nice that there is some coverage of the WAFL colts from a Victorian source, but if this gonna be it I'd rather just have none again.

Some interesting detail in that article.

Players can now nominate for 6 or 18 month contracts, and if they've been listed before can nominate a salary above base.

Mitigates a bit of the risk from the players' end.

Yeah, is a good thing imo.

I'd be surprised if Edwards doesn't nominate. Guaranteed to stay in Melbourne via the MSD and management will no doubt want a pretty quick contract extension on the table.
