Mate, I'm ranked 7k with this midfield ...

... and I'm pretty happy I strengthened other lines to start the year. The topline mid premos have all started slowly and we can look to start picking them up in a month's time on the cheap.

Have patience my friend ;)

I don't know if you call phillips a midfielder.

But yeah.
Mids always drop in price few cheapies about.

Gun backs don't really drop much in price.

Some cheap upgrade options on the horizon, if they don't smash out 140's in the meantime.

R7ish
Neale - ????
Petracca 540-560k - What's gone wrong this year?
Oliver 580-600k - :padlock:
Kelly 550-575k - Role poor, will surely change at some point.
Adams 480-500k- Lots of touches, awful efficiency. Sustainable? Injury history a worry but at that price might be worth a gamble.

Tracca still avg 28 touches 3 tackles and a goal a game.
Was a butcher round 2.

Surprisingly no tonnes so far.

Has 22 clangers through 3 games and his CP rate compared to last year is much lower due to playing more forward and the game opening up a lot. He’ll be fine imo, should be good for 105/110

Didn't he average 90ish last year? That's a fail as an M8 for me. Never gonna get it perfect, but gotta shoot for tbe stars.

You could choose to look at it that way and only count the most recent injury affected & compromised season and just ignore 2 seasons of 117+ scoring preceding it.

What is "gotta shoot for the stars" in reference to?

Highest possible rank. I'm looking at Neale to Ridkey to maximise points. Ridley, assuming Neales back injury hampers him all year, will outscore him easily.

Why would it hamper him all year? He wouldn't be playing if it was more than just a niggle.
If he's got a back injury that is visible via scans, that's a reasonable injury. I don't think he'll recover while training and playing full time.

If, being the key word there, because we only ever her half the story. But I don't want my M1 to gradually slip to M8 over 23 rounds.

Can Joel Selwood keep pumping out a score and add another $100k to use him as a stepping stone?
Unlikely, Geelong are going to have too speed up imo and I doubt he can do the same. $100k isn't worth trading him in then out. Focus on rookies to make money, there are a lot appearing.

Smith will be part of Bulldogs midfield core that will take on Brownlow Medallist Lachie Neale, with Beveridge not afraid to tag him if the star gets out of control.
Neale got away from the Bulldogs last year, tallying 36 possessions and a goal, with in-form clearance specialist Tom Liberatore the likely tagger or at least “cooler” if he gets out of control again.
“It’s a misnomer we won’t go that way,” Beveridge said of a Neale tag.
“The last three times we have played Brisbane we have run with Lachie. Libba has done some terrific jobs but the last time we played Brisbane, Lachie was their best player, so as a group we weren‘t able to quell their influence. It’s always a consideration.”

So who is on everyone’s upgrade watch list?

I’ve already got Macrae, Zerrett, Walsh.

Clarry-BE169-Price628K-YTDminus28K
Titch-BE153-Price599K-YTDminus11K
Bont-BE127-Price603K-YTDminus20K
Steele-BE121*-Price640K-YTDminus17K

* Already played, and scored 150, so going up in price already

They’re the main players on my midfield “want” list. Anyone else you’d add?

Steele, get this week or wait for him to drop again. The other three probably bottoming out in the next 2-3 weeks.

Have Macrae, Petracca, Merrett, Brayshaw and Walsh.

Ideally, finish off with Oliver, Steele and Neale. Mitchell if Steele ends up unaffordable for me. Kelly I may take just based on his scoring history and hope he goes 120 for me even if he averages 110 for the year etc.

Then the likes of Lyons, Guthrie, Boak, and Bontempelli are on my watch list. Also Laird, Houston and Mills if defence is crammed and these guys are in the top echelon.
