Quick series I'm the MLB might open a window....

Also no Ranked V Ranked games at all this weekend.
Oregon/UCLA should be a good game.

Perdue is ranked too.

The last time Purdue was in the Top 25 of the college football world were the days of Joe Tiller, Curtis Painter, Kory Sheets, and company on September 30th, 2007. Fast-forward 14 years and Purdue is back to being ranked debuting at 25 with room for improvement ahead.

Purdue has now snapped the longest streak amongst Power 5 teams of being unranked, which oddly enough, was Indiana up until 2019.

I was talking about it watching the WSU/Stanford game.

Dickhead even tried to claim religious freedoms. I knew he was gone when after the game the players gave him a gatoraide bath.

imagine losing your good paying coaching job because you are anti-vax or just dumb enough to go down the conspiracy rabbit hole.

FAU, Charlotte, UTSA, North Texas, Rice and UAB have applied to join the AAC.

looks like the next wave of conference realignment is moving along.

Big10 TV deal expires in 2023, Pac-12 in 2024, Big12 in 2025. so i would expect the next 12 months to be wild with so Big10, Big12 and Pac-12 can go to market with what teams will be in the conferences for the next rights deal

Just read that North Texsa, UTSA, Rice and UTEP applied to join the MWC and the league said no.
So they're (except UTEP) AAC bound instead.

The interest I have is the C-USA/SBC now

On one hand, the C-USA is looking at trying to poach some SBC schools
On the other, Southern Miss thinks the SBC is a better conference and they might go the other way, giving the C-USA the death blow which we saw with the WAC all those years ago when the MWC backfilled

in some [hopefully] good news ESPN has lost the rights to the FA cup. so will get noon kickoff games back November after years of losing them to f**king soccer.

App St knock off Coastal Carolina
Had a vibe that App State could stun them. I was going to watch the late replay last night on ESPN but it wasn't on till 11.

Looks like it's a done deal. Conference USA down to 8 members.

update on the baseball. Atlanta had a chance to win the series today and got blown out.

tomorrow Houston can win the series which should give us a game on Sunday.
Othewise if Boston win then no games on TV at all.

Southern Miss, Marshall and Old Dominion moving from C-USA to the SBC (along with James Madison coming up from FCS)

Leaves C-USA at 5 schools after having 14 a week ago.
Louisiana Tech, UTEP, FIU, Western Kentucky and Middle Tennessee State.

If I'm being 100% honest though. I truly believe the 3 schools the SBC poached are better than the 6 the AAC poached.

Also, is there a little bit of a grudge being shown by SBC here?
Western Kentucky were SBC from 1982-2014 (football 2009-14)
Middle Tennessee State were SBC from 2000-2013 (football 2001-13) (Though, 2001 was the leagues 1st year of football)
FIU were SBC from 1998-2013 (football 2005-2013)
Louisiana Tech were SBC from 1991-2001

And while talking about conference realignment

There's alot of smoke at the moment about the next raid the BigXII has.
There'd been talk for Boise State and Memphis previously, but now there's talk of adding 4 schools and going to 16 so they can play the SEC in both a basketball and football challenge.

The other schools in the conversation to be #15 and #16 are San Diego State, Colorado State and UNLV from the MWC and SMU, Tulane, USF and UAB from the AAC.

Boise State is doing alot of small things on the side atm which makes it look near certain we'll be the next invited including
Just getting approval from the state for a 30% increase in allocated funds for the athletic program.
Released the renderings of a planned upgrade to our basketball arena

Other smoke includes the Gonzaga Athletic Director saying the Big XII hasn't stopped yet (With BYU leaving, they probably want to join a better conference, and apparently the Big East and Mountain West are sniffing around - If he knows about the Big XII, I'd say they prefer the MWC but will go Big East instead if the MWC gets weaker too.)
