ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports Patriots OC Josh McDaniels is a "prime candidate" for the Eagles' head-coaching vacancy.
Owner Jeffrey Lurie has an interview scheduled with Buccaneers DC Todd Bowles Monday afternoon but could already be locked onto McDaniels after the two sides met with each other “from mid-morning into the evening past 9:00 PM” Sunday. Philadelphia hasn't even reached out to Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy, suggesting any further interviews conducted by the organization are merely a transparent attempt at following league-mandated rules. McDaniels would likely have the final say in personnel as a GM-like voice in the room if handed the job in the coming days.

Dont even like Dallas but this would feel like karma for Cowboys fans after the years of s**t eagles fans have given them for Jerry and Jason. now they are a bigger dumpster fire with a dude who loves burning bridges and pissing off people.

Washington execs met with ex-Panthers GM Marty Hurney for its general manager vacancy Monday.
An average candidate that seems more like a give-up hire, Hurney has always been linked to Washington if only because coach Ron Rivera is calling the shots there. Hurney is thus the organization's "top candidate" after serving as Carolina's GM from 2002-2012 and (comically) again from February 2018-2020. The team is expected to make the hire official this week.

The Eagles are interviewing Colts offensive coordinator Nick Sirianni for the team's head coaching vacancy.
Sirianni, 39, was hired by Frank Reich in 2018 to coach the Colts' offense after two years as the Chargers' quarterbacks coach, where he worked with Reich. He had to reconfigure the team's offense after Andrew Luck's shocking retirement before the 2019 season, and did an admirable job in 2020 despite Philip Rivers' late-career limitations. Sirriani could be an exciting hire for a troubled Eagles franchise in need of a spark.

NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports the Rams are "focusing on" ex-Falcons DC Raheem Morris as they look to replace Brandon Staley.
There was apparently robust interest in the 2020 Falcons interim head coach. Still only 44 despite seemingly being in the NFL forever, Morris actually has more experience as a head coach than defensive coordinator. He did a solid job with an undermanned Falcons group this season. Rams coach Sean McVay, who worked alongside Morris in Washington, has a keen eye for coaching fits with his team.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Saints DBs coach Aaron Glenn is drawing defensive coordinator interest.
Per Rapsheet, Glenn is "a strong option at a few different places." Glenn was a candidate for the Jets' top job before it went to 49ers DC Robert Saleh. An NFL assistant since 2014, longtime pro Glenn has been coaching the Saints' excellent DBs group since 2016.

Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer reports the Rams declined permission for OC Kevin O'Connell to interview for the same position with the Chargers.
Teams can no longer block position coach interviews for coordinator jobs, but since this would be a lateral move for O'Connell, coach Sean McVay still had the power. It would be a major promotion for O'Connell, of course, since McVay will continue to serve as his own play-caller. Per Breer, the "lines of communication" remain open between the sides, so perhaps it will still end up happening. O'Connell would be working for McVay's former defensive boss Brandon Staley.

Like, Dallas have every problem we currently have.

Another great hire by the Lions

Lions hired Saints DBs coach Aaron Glenn as defensive coordinator.
New Lions coach Dan Campbell's hiring has yet to even be officially announced, but word of his staff is already leaking. Glenn and Campbell coached alongside each other in New Orleans over the past five years. 48 years old, Glenn took some time off following the end of his 15-year career in 2008, but he has been a quick riser through the coaching ranks after leaving the Jets' scouting group in 2014. Glenn spent 2014-15 with the Browns before landing in New Orleans. He has developed on one of the league's top coaching staffs over the past half decade. It's an exciting hire, but Glenn has extremely little to work with in the Lions' Matt Patricia-gutted defense.

Cowboys OC Kellen Moore will interview for the Eagles' head-coaching vacancy on Tuesday.
Moore is someone whose reputation in NFL circles is still outpacing what the public can see, not that he did a bad job under poor circumstances in 2020. The Cowboys and new coach Mike McCarthy thought enough of Moore in 2020 that they took the unusual step of retaining him even after ex-coach Jason Garrett was fired. They extended his contract earlier this month after Boise State tried to hire Moore as its new head coach. Although the Cowboys' sieve-like defense deserved most of the "credit," Moore's Dak Prescott-led offense was on a torrid pace before Prescott's brutal injury. Moore is only 31 years old. He would be a high-risk, high-reward hire for the Eagles.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Bears have interviewed ex-Cardinals and Giants DC James Bettcher for their defensive coordinator vacancy.
The G-Men's coordinator from 2018-19, Bettcher was in Arizona the three years before that. It would be a low-wattage hire. The Bears are also talking with Cowboys senior defensive assistant George Edwards and Colts DBs coach Jonathan Gannon.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Eagles will interview Saints DC Dennis Allen for their head-coaching vacancy on Wednesday.
Sean Payton's coordinator since 2015, Allen has overseen one of the league's best defenses in recent years. 48-year-old Allen has head-coaching experience from a disastrous three-year tenure in Oakland immediately following the death of legendary owner Al Davis. The franchise was adrift, and Allen was one of many to pay the price. He would be more deserving than some "second chance" candidates, but Allen would still be an extremely underwhelming hire, one that would raise the question why the Eagles fired Doug Pederson if Allen was the best they could do as a replacement.

New Orleans being scalped all over the place. Going to be a completely different franchise next year by the time they move on a lot of their regular players of past few years.

Rams hired Raheem Morris as defensive coordinator.
Morris is replacing one of the best young defensive minds in Brandon Staley, but the former Falcons interim head coach is well respected himself. He's coached on both sides of the ball in the NFL, has head coaching experience, and turned the Falcons' shaky defense into a respectable unit in the second half of 2020. Morris arguably has the two best defensive players in the NFL to work with. The key will be getting everyone else in the correct spots. The Rams allowed the fewest points in the NFL last season.

Saints promoted DL coach Ryan Nielsen to assistant head coach.
The Saints have lost a couple of pieces in their front office and coaching staff this offseason, and Nielsen was just offered the LSU defensive coordinator. He leveraged that offering into a better title with more responsibilities. Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer notes Nielsen is viewed as a future head coach by those inside the league. Nielsen has been the Saints' defensive line coach for four seasons.

Jaguars promoted director of player personnel Trent Baalke to general manager.
Baalke will get another shot at general manager after an up-and-down run with the 49ers. San Francisco made the NFC Conference Championship in each of his first three seasons as general manager, but things flipped in his final three years. He lost coach Jim Harbaugh, hired and fired Jim Tomsula in 2015, and ended up losing his job in 2016 after Chip Kelly's 2-14 season. Baalke returned to the NFL last year as Jacksonville's director of player personnel. Coach Urban Meyer assuredly will have a lot of power in personnel decisions, but Baalke provides the NFL experience Meyer lacks. Baalke's first order of business will be utilizing the Jaguars' league-leading cap space. Then they can throw the "Welcome to Jacksonville" parade for Trevor Lawrence. Baalke was left with a lot of capital to turn around the 1-15 Jaguars.

Strange appointment, this guy has been a cancer particularly at the 49ers.

Loyalty is not this blokes strongest point.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reports Doug Pederson is "leaning toward" taking a year off.
Pederson interviewed for Seattle's offensive coordinator job last week. His late firing from the Eagles hurt his chances of resurfacing as a retread coach, and Pederson's best bet may be to reset ahead of the 2022 coaching cycle. With a .531 career winning percentage and Super Bowl title on his resume, there should be interest in 52-year-old Pederson next offseason if he decides to sit out.
