We just keep getting better...

Lions hired ex-Jaguars DC Todd Wash as DL coach.
Wash
, 52, was the Jaguars' DC the last five seasons but was ushered out with coach Doug Marrone's staff. He spent eight seasons in Jacksonville where he was the previous DL coach prior to his promotion. He's been coaching defensive linemen in the NFL since 2007 and will work under first-time Lions DC Aaron Glenn in Detroit.

Wow, what a great coaching staff all up. Killing it.

Lions hired former LB Kelvin Sheppard as a defensive assistant.
The 33-year-old ended his 107-game playing career with Detroit in 2018 and spent 2020 as the director of player development at LSU. He's getting his feet wet in the coaching ranks and joins first-time coach Dan Campbell's staff under first-time DC Aaron Glenn.

Steelers hired Mike Sullivan as QBs coach.
The longtime Giants assistant/occasional offensive coordinator was most recently the Broncos' QBs coach in 2018. It's not an addition that is going to shake up the Steelers' staff, and is further indication the Steelers are hoping to survive 2021 merely by tweaking a declining Ben Roethlisberger.

Wisconsin DC Jim Leonhard is the "frontrunner" for the Packers' defensive coordinator job.
The Packers have narrowed their search to Leonhard and Rams safeties coach Ejiro Evero. Leonhard, who coaches for his alma mater, has turned down other opportunities, including the Illinois head-coaching job in December and the Rams defensive coordinator position in 2018. He's viewed as a possible successor to Wisconsin HC Paul Chryst. The Packers' job looks like Leonhard's if he wants it.

Wisconsin DC Jim Leonhard informed the Packers that he will not accept the same position in Green Bay.
Leonhard will turn down his second NFL coordinator offer in the last three years. He also passed on Illinois head-coaching job earlier this offseason. Leonhard is committed to staying at his alma mater in Wisconsin, where he's a successor to HC Paul Chryst. With Leonhard out, Green Bay will turn its attention to Rams safeties coach Ejiro Evero.

Packers hired Joe Barry as defensive coordinator.
University of Wisconsin DC Jim Leonhard was reportedly offered the job first but turned it down. Barry, 50, was the team's next choice, previously working with coach Matt LaFleur in Los Angeles in 2017 as the assistant linebackers coach to the latter's tenure as QBs coach. This will be Barry's third turn as a defensive coordinator in the league, having held that job previously with the Lions (2007-08) and Washington (2015-16). Barry has never engineered a unit better than 28th in total defense in four seasons as an NFL coordinator.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Chiefs hope to reach an agreement on a new contract with OC Eric Bieniemy after the Super Bowl.
Bieniemy was a hot name on the head coaching market after the regular season but no one chose to give the coordinator of the highest-scoring offense over the past three years a chance. Poor interviews were a consistent theme in the rumors of his attempts to land an HC job. The rich will stay richer than everyone else with Bieniemy back in Kansas City for at least one more season. Bieniemy has been the OC for the Cheifs in all three of Patrick Mahomes' starting campaigns. He will likely land a HC gig in the coming years after the Chiefs run circles around the league on offense a few more times.

I wouldn't trust Leftwich at all. Go somewhere and prove yourself without Arians holding your hand.
Agree.

Bowles on the other hand...turns out the Jets are a dumpster fire for coaches too, who knew

Giants hired Rob Sale as offensive line coach.
Sale and Giants head coach Joe Judge were together at Alabama a decade ago. Sale spent three years as Louisiana's offensive coordinator -- a stretch in which the Ragin' Cajuns broke many offensive school records, including total offense (6,918), total touchdowns (69), most rushing yards (3,604), most rushing touchdowns (42) and most passing touchdowns (27). The team's production caught the attention of NFL decision makers, and Sale now starts what could be his ascent to an offensive coordinator job in the league. For now, he'll toil under offensive coordinator Jason Garrett, who led one of the NFL's worst offenses in 2020.

Vikings hired Klint Kubiak as offensive coordinator.
The NFL's cocoon remains undefeated. Klint Kubiak, 33, will take over for his father, Gary Kubiak, who retired last month after one season as the team's offensive coordinator and 36 years as a coach in the league (including 10 years as a head coach). Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer reportedly wanted to keep the team's offense in place, so the younger Kubiak will allow Kirk Cousins and company to keep the same offensive language and concepts in 2021. Klint spent two seasons as the Vikings' quarterbacks coach after three seasons as Denver's QBs coach. Cousins, Justin Jefferson, Adam Thielan, Dalvin Cook, and Irv Smith give Gary's kid one of the NFL's best skill position groups. Receivers coach Andrew Janocko is expected to become Minnesota's QBs coach.

Got to love the nepotism of NFL coaching hires, don't you?

Bears promoted QBs coach John DeFilippo to pass-game coordinator.
It's the same role Dave Ragone left behind after it was announced he was joining Arthur Smith in Atlanta. 2021 will only be DeFilippo's second season under coach Matt Nagy but 17th overall in the league, holding recent offensive coordinator stints with the Jaguars (2019), Vikings (2018), and Browns (2015). The former's connection with Carson Wentz is of note as Chicago is reportedly in the mix for the 28-year-old.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports the Lions are expected to hire Bucs offensive assistant Antwaan Randle El as receivers coach.
The longtime Steelers and Washington receiver/return man joined coach Bruce Arians' staff two years ago. In the past, Randle El had complained of memory issues and said he wished he never played football, but that was half a decade ago. He is clearly doing better. Randle El's versatility should make him an excellent teacher and sounding board.
