Eagles punished hard for last season's week 17 prime time debacle.

Can't say I blame the NFL.

The debacle was the NFL scheduling the game in that slot in the first place, this year's lack of prime time has more to do with the Eagles projected suckiness.

"I think 538 did an article on this a few years ago and found the same thing. IIRC they also found that point differential had a slightly stronger correlation from year to year, making it a better metric for SOS."

I am happy to break all the analysis and metrics and mathematical equations down for you:

Score 1 more point than your opponent= win

Do that often enough = winning record

You are welcome

Chiefs acquired CB Mike Hughes from the Vikings in exchange for a 2022 sixth-round pick.
The Chiefs are also receiving a 2022 seventh-rounder. It is close to a full-blown salary dump from the Vikings, who declined former first-rounder Hughes' 2022 fifth-year team option earlier this month. Neck issues have limited Hughes to just 18 appearances and five starts over the past two seasons, while he suffered a torn ACL in 2018. He was on the field for all of four games in 2020. Hughes is still only 24 years old, but he has not been terribly effective even when active. Hughes' draft pedigree nevertheless makes it a sensible flier for the two-time defending AFC champion Chiefs to take. Hughes can play both inside and out.

I can't believe that Rick Spielman is casting off 7th round picks after featuring heavily in the 7th round of previous drafts. Maybe the 2021 draft has finally taught him that it's not compulsory to have multiple picks in the 7th round.

Trading Hughes for chump change (giving away a 7th rounder for the Chiefs 6th rounder) closes the book on yet another 1st round draft bust for the Vikings; Hughes is talented, but is too injury prone.

Wtf are they teaching these kids?

Clearly you haven’t been paying much attention to this country the last 5 years.

Least surprising thing ever—especially the laughing as it happens

What the fu**

What's there to understand?

Hughes was taken in the first round by the Vikes in 2018, but they are cutting bait now because he can't stay healthy (played in exactly 1/2 the games over 3 seasons, starting only 7) and they don't believe he is worth the extra salary cost that a 1st round pick brings.
