Sorry, you were wrong, ADP, I was right....

-----

It’s the Titans I think. Strong relationship with Vrabel. Brady said they were interested till the very end. Titans resigned Tannehill on March 15. Brady signed with the Bucs on March 20. The way Brady talks, it’s like he was talking to someone he has a more friendly relationship with as opposed to a professional one. This would be Vrabel. My educated guess is Tennessee.

It’s the only one that makes sense. Some people seem to think Chargers, buts it’s hard to believe they’d turn away Brady. I don’t believe Rams or SF pursued Brady at the time. And apparently he turn Chicago down. So most likely Tennessee.

Na, Brady has no respect for Goff at all ( no handshakes after a loss etc) that's why I'm confident its the Rams . He respects Jimmy enough to know he would have lost his job to him if not for Daddy Kraft.

I always thought 49ers weren’t that interested in Brady due to not wanting to change offensive system to fit him. Shanahan it’s all about his system

Tom Brady Apparently Came Very Close To Signing With Saints Last Year

June 22, 2021
By Michael Hurley, CBS Boston

BOSTON (CBS) — No individual player has made a bigger mark on NFL history than Tom Brady. So any nugget involving his place of employment has a direct impact on the way that NFL history is told.

It was interesting, then, to hear from ESPN’s Jeff Darlington on Tuesday morning. In the wake of Brady’s comment from “The Shop” going public, Darlington was part of a panel discussion about teams that should regret having passed up on Brady in free agency last year. Darlington — who pursued Brady’s free agency closely last year — went a bit off the board by going with the New Orleans Saints.

“I think that people still underestimate how close Tom Brady was to signing with the New Orleans Saints up until he ultimately decided on the Bucs,” Darlington said. “I know that that’s going to be a statement that people try to question; it’s the truth.”

The Saints, as we know, ended up sticking with Drew Brees for one more year. They can’t really regret that decision. Brees is the best player in franchise history, and though broken ribs limited him to 12 games, he played well during the year and even beat Brady in two head-to-head meetings in the regular season. Brady did get the last laugh, outperforming Brees (who threw three interceptions) in the divisional round of the playoffs.
Darlington said that Sean Payton’s regret may be in the fact that he didn’t have Tom Brady last year, and now doesn’t have Tom Brady or Drew Brees in 2021 and beyond.

“The Saints, despite understanding they did what they had to do, there is a little bit of — let’s call it regret — that Tom Brady is not their quarterback,” Darlington said.

Adam Schefter did report in February that the Saints might have gone with Brady if Brees had retired. Darlington, though, makes it sound like the Saints considered going with Brady regardless of Brees’ decision to play one more year or retire. And he makes it seem like the Saints even wanted Brady.

It’s interesting in the sense that any “what if?” in sports is interesting. If Brady had joined the Saints, then we know that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are not your defending Super Bowl champions entering the 2021 season. It could very well be the Chiefs. It could just as easily have been the Saints, who went 12-4 and won the NFC South. The NFL record books would have Brady as the all-time passing leader already, a mark he’ll likely achieve anyway by early October. And just for fun … what if Drew Brees didn’t want to retire and ended up signing somewhere like … say … New England?

That story would have played out with some high drama on a weekly basis. And it feels fair to assume that Brees would have had a better year one in New England than Cam Newton did, thus changing the scope and shape of the AFC East.

You could go on and on and on with the butterfly effect here. Even though that’s largely a waste of time, it’s nevertheless a little bit of a fun daydreaming session in the middle of June as we look back on the decision by most NFL teams to pass up on the GOAT when he was available for the taking last year. The Bucs made their push, and they have their Super Bowl to show for it. Everybody else — including the Saints — is left to wonder … what if?

Who was Tom Brady referring to with his “motherf–ker” remark?

Posted by Mike Florio on June 22, 2021, 11:26 AM EDT

The question has swirled throughout the NFL for the past 24 hours. Who is the “motherf–ker” to whom Tom Brady is referring in his comments regarding a team that lost interest in signing Brady last year because they were “sticking with” the other guy?
Speculation has centered on 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, because: (1) Brady wanted to play for the 49ers; and (2) the 49ers decided to stick with Garoppolo.

Other possibilities, in our view, are the Titans and Ryan Tannehill, the Bears and Mitchell Trubisky, the Broncos and Drew Lock, and maybe the Raiders and Derek Carr.

Tannehill makes little sense. He was the comeback player of the year in 2019, and he beat Brady in his last game ever with the Patriots. Trubisky makes little sense, because there was no reporting linking Brady to the Bears. Ditto for the Broncos, given Brady’s horrible history playing in Denver. Carr makes a little more sense, if Brady was truly interested in the Raiders.

Brady reportedly showed interest in the Chargers and the Colts. Neither team was considering a quarterback option that would constitute “sticking with” anyone. The Chargers signed Tyrod Taylor in the same free agency cycle, and the Colts signed Philip Rivers.

We posted a Twitter poll on Monday, and Garoppolo has been the overwhelming choice.

Regardless of who it was, here’s hoping Brady is asked that question at some point between now and training camp, or during his first media availability of training camp.

Everyone seems to have forgotten that Michael Sam was the first active openly gay player...

He was s**t that's why. Nassib has at least been able to stick around in the league.

Dumbasses can't even see Goff is the obvious. Goff and Foles are the two players Brady would 100% call mother*ers , he has little to no respect for either.

Brady is the type of guy who would have wanted to go to the Rams too, loaded team, the type he likes, would have played for peanuts to win titles so the Rams could eat Goff dead money.

Was he or did he unwittingly put himself in an impossible position.

I don't buy it. Talent always finds a way in the NFL. Sexual preference means nothing apart from potentially upsetting some dumbass teammates.

I watched Sam for the Rams and he just didn't have the talent to make it. Both he and college teammate Kony Ealy didn't look anywhere near as good as their Missouri stats suggested.

& any number of knuckle dragging fans & media.

It's impossible for anyone other than Sam to know how much the reaction to his coming out impacted his career. What we can be sure of is that only 5 or so years later, the support for Nassib will be far greater than that Sam ever received.

You're probably right, but Nassib was a second round pick and has been a decent pro even if he hasn't lived up to the draft pick he was taken at. Far better player than Sam
