NFL 2021 NFL - Week 6

Mike brings up a good point, why was the ref shielding Brady from Barnett when the play was supposedly still live? hmmmm

Do you really need to ask this?

:)

what part of the rulebook is the protect Tommy at all costs section ? Seems to be torn out in the one im looking at.

The same part that says make sure the Browns get tagged with a key 4th down non-existent PI call

Or that Pittspuke gets a non-existent 1st down from a measurement clearly showing they are short of the line to gain.

:)

Key point was as King says ..replay was created to fix the obvious wrong calls. This over-dissection of close calls is complete bs. Taking your sixty seconds, not clear …ruling on field stands, shouldn’t be that hard

Just getting ahead of this…having Chubb out Sunday really won’t have much effect on Stefanski.

Doesn’t use him properly and certainly doesn’t use him when it most matters anyway.

We will be able to direct blame a lot of places when Browns fall to 3-3

But missing their best player isn’t one of them

Should I start Hunt over Diontae Johnson (PPR fantasy)?

It was clearly an interception to me, hands under the ball, ball only moved a little when it was above the ground.

Thursday night’s game included a six-minute, five-second replay review

When it comes to the NFL’s replay-review process, two important things should be remembered.

First, the ruling on the field should be overturned only if 50 drunks in a bar would agree that a mistake was made. Second, if it takes six minutes and five seconds to figure it out, 50 drunks in a bar would not agree that a mistake was made.

Last night, a full six minutes and five seconds were needed to overturn a ruling that (God forbid) Tom Brady had thrown an interception.

Peter King had plenty to say about the situation on Friday’s PFT Live, and he’ll take a closer look at the moment in his next Football Morning in America.

For now, we’ll say this. No replay review should shut a game down for that long, especially not a prime-time game.

According to the rulebook, that shouldn’t happen. Says Rule 15, Section 2, Article 2: “A decision must be made within 60 seconds from when video is shared with the Referee on the field.”

The problem is that there’s no penalty for failure to comply. There’s no remedy at any, other than whatever tough questions Walt Anderson and/or Perry Fewell may have to answer later from the league office.

For most of the 2021 season, the replay process has worked — despite the changes made to the persons in charge of the process. Last night’s delayed effort to apparently search and search and search for a way to overturn what would have been (should have been) a Brady interception is not how it should ever happen.

Agreed, it was clearly an interception

Ridiculous decision & it wasn't the only one in that game, not that that's any different to any other game played every week - the Zebra standard is at an all time low imho, maybe they've inbred them for too long now...

And of course the Higgins Hit.

In a season where the NFL is trying to reduce concusssion injuries and helmet related contact....

Defending Kansa City player leads with the helmet, with no attempt to tackle, makes helmet to helmet contact as the Browns player is reaching for the touchdown to give the Browns the lead in a playoff game, causes Browns player to fumble. On field decision, Kansas City gets the ball.

It was so blatant even one of the TV commentators mumbled once said it should have been a penalty against KC !

It was the ratings impact of Mahones being knocked out off the playoffs deciding the penalty....

I dont think it was clearly an INT at all, but what we've learnt this year in every other game is that the replay officials refuse to overturn calls on the field for 50/50's, why did they this time? and why did it take so bloody long?

It clearly should have been inconclusive evidence to overturn it going off what we've seen.

The Browns took away your Chubb and you will be calling for K.Hunt time.

while they ignore that and try to convince themselves Baker is a franchise QB, so you will spend the 3.5 hrs Sunday watching the game calling them dumb campaigners

You forgot to add in AC's safeties masquerading as linebackers rant.
