When you think about it, it's a bit amazing. 53 man roster. You probably draft 6 players a year, and maybe only half stick for more than two years. You hand out generally 3 year contracts to everyone. So a massive amount thru free agency, but it never seems like it's that much coming in from FA....53 churned all in 3-4 years. Even dynasties go thru it. After about 10 years, probably only Belichick and Brady remained.
VInce WIlfork was also part of the sb39 & 49 wins.

The truly admirable thing is how the Panthers have managed to remain consistent throughout it all and not win championships.
I always thought we were a good team to follow despite being a newbie team, unfashionable part of America, no popular stereotype, no sb wins and a few years at the bottom.

But then Allthatpower spoils it because we haven't had consecutive 9-7 seasons. Big deal.

Im happy with the trade Wentz really has to ball out if they want that 2nd to turn in to a first.

Take whoever you can at 21 for Left Tackle and this team is ready to rock and roll now

Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer reports the Bears never made a trade offer for Carson Wentz.
The Bears were certainly doing their homework on Wentz and likely were on the phone with Eagles GM Howie Roseman, but things never fully escalated. Breer reports the Colts were the only team actually in the mix for Wentz, who was traded for a 2021 third-round pick and a 2022 second-round pick that could turn into a first-rounder if Wentz plays more than 75% of the Colts' snaps next season. Chicago still has a major hole to fill at quarterback, and GM Ryan Pace doesn't have the luxury of waiting to find his guy next offseason. Expect the Bears to turn to the Marcus Mariota, Cam Newton, and Teddy Bridgewater tier of quarterbacks over the next month.

The NFL informed teams the salary cap for the 2021 season will be a minimum of $180 million.
The NFL and NFLPA initially agreed that the minimum salary cap would be no lower than $175 million for this upcoming season, increasing $5 million on that agreement. The league has increased its salary cap every year since having an uncapped season in 2010 but a significant increase doesn't appear to be in the cards for 2021. As it stands, the Jaguars are projected with the most cap space at $77.6 million.

The Eagles spent five draft picks to move into #2 to draft Wentz. Not to mention giving him a new $130m contract that theyre still gonna hurt from in getting rid of him ($33m dead money for 2021).

Precautionary tale against trading up for a QB. But I dont think that stops teams from continuing to do that. Not this years draft. But its bound to happen again and again, where a number of QBs in the first round bust.

Indy Star's Jim Ayello reports the Colts received a "pretty firm not available" from the Raiders when checking in on Derek Carr.
Before they traded for Carson Wentz, the Colts called the Raiders about Carr, who has been in the midst of trade discussions for seasons. While both are theoretically on the trade block, it's clear that the Raiders want to trade Marcus Mariota, not Carr this offseason. Analytically, Carr was a top-12 passer last season and has cap hits of just $22.1 million and $19.9 million over the next two years. A team will have to blow the Raiders away with an offer for Carr to be dealt.

Ill back in coach Reich to turn Wentz around because if he cant do it then he will find himself in a Sam Bradford esque situation

Wentz has to play 75% of offensive snaps for the 2nd round pick to become a first. I’d hardly call that “balling out”
Yes and it will be a late first anyway.

Who knows what 2021 Wentz version we get
