NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Washington acquired T Ereck Flowers and a late-round draft pick from the Dolphins for a late-round pick.
The teams reportedly traded day three draft picks. The Dolphins jettison Flowers -- a complete bust since being drafted as a first rounder in 2015 -- a year after signing him to a three-year, $30 million deal, with nearly $20 million guaranteed. The trade creates about $8 million in cap room for Miami. Flowers' conditioning was a major issue for the Dolphins early last season, and the veteran spent time on the COVID-19 list. After playing 16 games in the 2019 season in Washington, Flowers will rejoin a solid offensive line a year after allowing five sacks and being graded by Pro Football Focus as the league's 100th best offensive lineman.

The NFL reportedly denied a request by the Denver Broncos to sign offensive quality control coach Rob Calabrese to their active roster for Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the Broncos felt Calabrese would have given them their best chance to field a quarterback who is ready to play Sunday. Practice squad receiver Kendall Hinton, who served as a backup quarterback at Wake Forest, is expected to start under center now that the Broncos are without an eligible quarterback on their roster.

Calabrese played quarterback and wide receiver at UCF from 2008 to 2012. He threw 254 collegiate passes, recording 1,276 yards and 12 touchdowns against seven interceptions.

The NFL reportedly does not want to set a precedent of players being stashed on coaching staffs, so they denied the Broncos' request. Denver also attempted to have the league push back Sunday's game to Tuesday, but that request was denied.

Bucs signed Antonio Brown to a one-year, $3.1 million deal.
Reports that the two sides were far apart in negotiations were apparently exaggerated. Brown, 33 in July, couldn't muster much interest on the open market, and returns to friend and confidant Tom Brady, who has recruited Brown for years. The Bucs re-signed Brown a week after he settled a lawsuit in which a longtime friend accused him of sexual assault -- one of several sexual misconduct allegations launched against the mercurial receiver in recent years.

Broncos acquired QB Teddy Bridgewater from the Panthers in exchange for a 2021 sixth-round pick.
The Broncos have been reported to be in the mix for a quarterback via the draft since the start of the offseason. Drew Lock has failed to do much in his 18 games as a starter, averaging just 6.6 yards per attempt and leading the league in interceptions last year. It's hard to see Bridgewater as the long-term answer though. After playing admirably as Drew Brees backup in 2019, the Saints ultimately let him walk in free agency. Then the Panthers saw a year of him as a starter and chose to replace him with Sam Darnold. Neither move is a resounding endorsement of his potential. Bridgewater will have a great cast of weapons to work with in Denver, but he played alongside a talented receiving unit in Carolina last year and did little with the opportunity. He threw 15 touchdowns to 11 interceptions and won just four games across 15 starts. As part of the trade, Carolina agreed to take on $7 million of Bridgewater's $10 million in guarantees for 2021. Bridgewater's contract was also restructured to make him a free agent at the end of 2021. That makes the deal low-risk for the Broncos but it remains minimal in upside. Adam Schefter added that this move doesn't take Denver out of the quarterback conversation with the No. 9 pick in the draft. Acquiring two quarterbacks in as many days would be surprising but the lack of investment in Bridgewater leaves a first-round passer on the table for the Broncos.

Profootballtalk's Mike Florio reports Aaron Rodgers "could be traded this weekend."
Florio's report is via a "source with knowledge of dynamics." Meanwhile, FOX's Jay Glazer reports he believes Rodgers is "strongly convicted that he doesn’t want to go back to Packers." ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Rodgers' unhappiness is "about way more than a new contract." The Packers are predictably putting on a brave public face and insisting Rodgers will remain with the team for 2021. Piecing together past hour of reports, it would appear the sides were engaged in rocky extension talks that have since broken down, seemingly all the way down. If Rodgers is truly available as early as this weekend, it greatly complicates the 49ers' plans at No. 3 overall, while the Panthers are another obvious possibility. This story seems to have jet fuel behind it, so we should learn more as Thursday rolls on.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Aaron Rodgers has told "certain members of the organization he does not want to return to the Green Bay Packers."
Schefter reports things have disintegrated to the point that each of team president Mark Murphy, head coach Matt LaFleur and GM Brian Gutekunst have traveled to California to try to get Rodgers to change his mind. Per Schefter, Rodgers "has not budged." Schefter terms the situation "a standoff." Gutekunst issued a statement insisting Rodgers remains a part of the team's 2021 plans, while Schefter reports the team has offered to extend Rodgers' contract. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport confirms the extension talks, but notes they are currently at a low ebb, and Rodgers is not happy. It would appear Rodgers' smoldering resentment at the team's Jordan Love pick in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft has not abated. Once again passing on pass-catching help in free agency surely did not help. Frankly, it is crazy the Packers are not considering dealing Rodgers. They have drafted his replacement and a 37-year-old coming off an MVP season will never be more valuable. The Pack wanted to plan for their post-Rodgers eventuality. If it's not time to put it into motion now, when will it be?

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports free agent QB Tim Tebow has converted to tight end and worked out for the Jaguars.
It is 33-year-old Tebow's latest flight of fancy after he spent four years in the New York Mets' minor league system, for some reason. Signing with the Jaguars would reunite Tebow with Urban Meyer, of course, but it has been six years since he played as much as a padless offseason rep. For years, people inside the league suggested that Tebow switch to tight end, but the former Heisman Trophy winner and first-round pick also resisted the move. Now it is quite simply too late. If Tebow gets a spot on the Jags' 90-man roster, it will be nearly impossible to convert it into a 53-man spot.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports the 49ers "reached out" about acquiring Aaron Rodgers on Wednesday but were rebuffed.
Per Pelissero, "no formal offer was made," and there remains a "zero percent chance" the Packers will be dealing the 2020 MVP. The 49ers seem to be going out of their way to link themselves to non-Mac Jones quarterbacks, so the timing of this leak is not curious. As for the Packers, FOX's Jay Glazer reports "a few teams" have called about Rodgers. If the Pack are not willing to trade their 37-year-old signal caller one year after drafting a first-round quarterback, the process that got them there was extremely poor.

IF the packers want to deal rodgers, san francisco would be the last place theyd gift him. Deny rodgers boyhood team, nfc opponents, too strong a roster already would be giving them a SB win.

So the gist is...rodgers wants a contract extension, the packers offers have been unsatisfactory to rodgers, showing hes not in their long term plans, like a year or two max only, want Love to take over a la favre-rodgers situation when rodgers was pissed he had to keep waiting and favre was pissed they wanted to replace him sooner than later. Now the circle completes with rodgers pissed they want to replace him sooner. Also the contract extension offer reduces the cap hits greatly for the packers, so its very businessy treating rodgers like a piece of meat. But rodgers went nasty by behind the scenes getting the niners to try trade for him, made it too obvious the trade request from the niners was generated by rodgers himself

"Rodgers is unhappy for a variety of reasons, with some of it dating to last year's draft when the Packers didn't inform him before trading up to draft a quarterback with their first-round pick. Some took this as a sign that his days in Green Bay could be numbered.

He also is at a different point in his personal life, having recently gotten engaged to actress Shailene Woodley. Rodgers also has hosted "Jeopardy!" and said it would be a dream to become the full-time host. He could play football and also host "Jeopardy!" "
