Reading a few things it seems like there's a few too many egos on the Opals team, especially when compared with the Boomers

The Boomers have come across as being a really tight knit group, and if you're on court then you're trusted to play your role, take the shot etc, regardless if you're a NBA or NBL player. So if Chris Goulding (really good NBL player) is on court and puts up a 3pt attempt, that doesn't rub his NBA teammates

That's in comparison with the Opals where it seems there may be something of a divide between the WNBA & WNBL players, with a certain section of the playing group feeling they are superior or more warranting when out on court

Really disappointing if things are like that, but could see it in our past couple of games with how disjointed we looked

Wonder if this changes things - the Opals needed to win by 25 to be the 8th team into the quarter finals, or in other words the 2nd best of the teams ranked 3rd in their group

In the end we won by 27 points and that actually increased our point differential to +10 which is equal with France as the best of the 3rd ranked teams, BUT we ended up scoring more points & jumped up to the 7th ranked team

Draw out in about 20 minutes, so we'll soon find out who'll be our next opponent

I know that the ref from last nights Matilda's match is unlikely to be on anyone's Christmas card list, and I doubt the USA will want to see the same ref that they had last night

They lost to Canada by 1 goal, and this was the penalty call which looks a seriously questionable call, especially as the Canadian player appears to initiate the contact






The bronze medal match looks like being played between 2 teams frustrated by calls in their respective losses - not sure anyone is giving Canada any chance against Sweden

Channel 7 working beautifully. Had the men's 3m springboard diving on 7Mate. Just said they were going to cross over to the velodrome, but if you wanted to continue watching the diving, you needed to go over to 7Plus, while they're showing yet another re-run of M*A*S*H on 7Two.

Stiff s**t for the older viewers who want to watch the diving and don't have a smart phone or aren't computer savvy and can't watch it online.

Kelsey-Lee Barber had two poor throws to start, produced the clutch throw on her final attempt to qualify third with a season best of 62.59 metres.

Alternatively buy a bigger roast to start with or cut the one you have into just enough pieces to serve those at the table & have no additional leftovers
