Yeah we know

It's grim indeed.

I share your concerns about crowds. The only time I ever got scared at a show was a Rolling Stones concert with festival seating. The crowd behind surged forward, we got pressed, there was nothing you could do.

You wonder how it can still happen. The first time was way back in 1979 in Cincinatti. You'd think 42 years on they might have learned something.

The only time ive ever been GA/standing in front of the stage was U2.

Pretty chilled audience that one. No surging

The fastest seppo pro baseball pitchers throw it at 160kph (100mph) or more (and it doesn't get slowed down by hitting the deck).

Ted Williams, arguably the greatest hitter of all time, claimed that at his peak he could actually read the writing on the ball as it came towards him, and nobody ever seems to have doubted his word.

Didn't they do the same thing with Bradman?

He claimed he could tell which part of the ball / seam he hit, and was tested somehow and proven correct?

Very probably.
Some special players have the reflexes/eyesight to do this sort of thing, whereas everyone else has to pick it up from "tells" in the bowler's actions/body/hand/arm.

Even Warney. 80kms (for me) is still bloody fast. The good batsmen could pick wronguns and flippers out of the hand.
Just how?
