It kinda does - think it's because it's the 3rd week in a row of Thursday night footy and I'm used to friday night footy, so having to ensure my tips are in means I'm thinking it's closer to the weekend than it actually is

also having football on Monday makes this one bloody long weekend of footy, so maybe that's why I was hoping it was closer to game day

CHECK-IN BLITZ

Authorities will today begin targeting Melbourne businesses who don't enforce QR code check-in by their patrons.

Supermarkets, retail stores, pub, cafes and restaurants will be among venues singled out in a three-week crackdown checking up on those flouting the rules.
Patron numbers and overcrowding will also be monitored as part of the COVID safety blitz.

Regional businesses will also need to be on their toes, with compliance teams hitting the Yarra Ranges Mornington Peninsula, Bass Coast and East Gippsland over the Easter weekend.

Teams will then move onto the Geelong area including the Surf Coast and Bellarine Peninsula as well as Warrnambool, Ballarat, Colac-Otway and the Grampians.

Fines for breaching COVID safety are as high as $1652 for individuals and $9913 for businesses. But authorities say they are unlikely to dish out fines during the blitz. The operation is more of an education exercise.
