no no... not Gladys fault now.. this is a serious health crisis that no one can fully control.

Of course... 3 months go it was negligence and stupidity when it was Dan Andrews problem.

But its ok to move the goalposts and help NSW now lol

It's probably more ScoMo's fault actually. It's been revealed Kevin Rudd had to get in touch with the head of Pfizer to get them to bring their supply of doses forward as ScoMo was too busy making curries and watching Barty at Wimbledon than doing his job.
Did that really happen?

Did that really happen?

As a result, one very senior Australian businessman — whose identity is known to the ABC but who wishes to remain anonymous — held two meetings with senior Pfizer executives in late June, only to be rebuffed.

Senior Pfizer executives told the businessman that if Australia was to make a more serious effort, after its treatment at the hands of relatively junior bureaucrats, it would have to come from much higher up, expressing their astonishment that Prime Minister Scott Morrison had not directly spoken to the Pfizer chairman and chief executive Albert Bourla, as former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had done on multiple occasions.

The executives suggested that, in the absence of Mr Morrison, former Australian prime minister Kevin Rudd — who was known to them because of his work in the United States as head of the New York-based Asia Society — may have some influence.

The network of businessmen contacted Mr Rudd and set up an introduction to Dr Bourla. A Zoom meeting was arranged on June 30. Mr Rudd sent a text message to Mr Morrison to tell him he was going to make the call, making clear he would be representing himself as a concerned Australian and not in any way as an emissary from the government.

Ok so........ Pfizer is picking and choosing which countries to send vaccines to.
Not over the amount of deaths or devastation?
But only sending it to countries that make a serious effort? And that serious effort is the prime minister ringing up having a chat.
So I take it New Zealand only got junior bureaucrats to ring up Pfizer too.
And they treated them badly? "Hey Pfizer, your Mum is fat"
So then after all that! while ScoMo is cooking a curry and watching the tennis at the same time, Kevin Rudd rings them up and says "Hey Pfizer, I know people are dropping like flies in other countries but can we have the vaccines first? We've had a 90yo die this year who had Covid but we don't know if she died from it."
Pfizer says "Yeah no worries Ruddy. We were just waiting for someone to give us a call."
So we should expect all the vaccines this month now?

I caught bit of an interview with NSW Deputy Premier John Barilaro and he was asked questions on a couple of topics such at why they didn't go harder sooner and why the government hasn't/won't made determinations on what actually is essential retail

John's answer to the the harder lockdown earlier was that this pandemic is all a learning curve, there's no playbook or examples to reference how to handle things, so they had to go by their medical professionals

When pointed out what every other State had done, he then went on about how it's the Delta variant so other States aren't relevant, and then he also ignored the option of looking overseas where they have been battling the Delta variant.

He was then asked about retail and came up with, "someone may need to go buy a blanket and should have that opportunity"

Then pushed further about lingerie and makeup stores being open and he started giving another BS answer but I walked out of the room

It's like those in NSW have never heard of "click & collect" or home delivery - you can still buy that blanket you need, but you do so online and have it either delivered to your car or even delivered to your home

Trying to be the friendly & not so mean premier in Aus looks like it's going to backfire for the folks of NSW - especially if those in charge think there's nothing to learn from the other States
