I wonder what their reasoning is behind always putting an earlier deadline on these than they must know they need. Do they think it will increase compliance if people think it is only a short amount of time? I'd prefer they forecast a longer period and then wind back if needed. Announcing a date and then having to extend and extend is more demoralizing to me. Also, if you're going to have it to the middle of the week you might as well just take it to the end. Make it an 8-10-day lockdown. If cases numbers come in after a few days and they've traced contacts well, then you can release it early and people will be happy, and going forward knowing that you'd think would aid compliance in future lockdown scenarios.Would be staggered if the Victorian lockdown doesn't get extended on the back of these case numbers
Given the tendency this has to seep into Victoria and then spread rapidly, it would seem prudent to maintain some level of restrictions in Victoria while NSW is experiencing its current outbreak and any time the same occurs in another state. Keep crowd capacity reduced and dispersed (not densely clustered in some parts of the stand) as well as venue caps in place.
