I'm not sure about others, but when you resort to listing friends or people you know that aren't white & using that as a justification that you're not racist, it's generally a good indication that you actually are racist

I think the whole "we're proud of the club" was extremely tone deaf from Eddie and the others. But I accept they undertook this process for the right reasons, not to sugar coat their past, but to find a way forward. That was a brave thing to do, IMO. I guess time will tell if Collingwood change from this, or successive boards and Presidents post-Eddie will water things down until the old culture returns. It's going to take real commitment for many, many, many years to come to create the type of community change Eddie wants. It's easy to say all this when you know it won't be you who'll have to do it, given Eddie is stepping down at the end of this year.
