I went to a non-denominational Christian high school, and obviously would go to church when the school did though I had no interest in any of it - my mum thought it would provide me with a well rounded education or something. I made some good friends, met some good teachers but probably could have got a better education elsewhere & upon reflection would have chosen a different school especially for years 10-12

The one thing the school did do well though was inclusivity - from what I saw there was no major issues with gay students (of which there was more than a few), including one guy who was a year below us but friends with one of my mates, and I had happened to go to primary school with him & knew him from the after school care program. He dropped out of high school to go learn hairdressing, but then decided that really wasn't for him and so he returned for VCE - as camp as camp, but didn't seem an issue at the school

I graduated 2001 - so that's a few years ago

Gotta love LTR's
Oh yeah happy Valentines day
Oh is it Valentines day
Yeah I would of got you a card but I couldn't be f**ked
Yeah fair enough
It is so overblown. Lucky my missus doesn’t really care much. If i get her something small she’s happy.

One of her friends though, expects a huge effort from her husband. He usually spends heaps. Nah stuff that.

Apparently she wanted black roses this year so he had to track those down:rolleyes:

Thank god my missus isn’t high maintenance.

Yeah f**k that. Its just a commercial day to help the economy.
You put in a small effort in the first couple of years and that's it.

Yeah my brother in law went to a Catholic high school and he absolutely hates religion with a passion. And he had a gay friend who went there who was full on camp. Was fine.

What ever happened to, i disagree with what you say, but i will defend to the death your right to say it?

Now it’s your opinion is wrong, so im going to destroy you any way i can, because you are literally hitler. These very people aren’t creating unity, they are the ones causing the division.

Other than not having freedom of speech in this country?

It's not so much about just disagreeing with ones opinion or what one's saying, but when what one is saying drifts into the territory of being dangerous & damaging that it should be spoken up against

If all Court has said previously is "I don't agree with homosexuality, it's a sin in my religion", then I'd say a lot more people would accept her opinion, say they disagree with her but it would be more easy to move on with things

But when she starts coming out with the following it becomes dangerous, and no issue with people speaking up against it: The former tennis champion Margaret Court has claimed “tennis is full of lesbians” following a row over remarks she made previously about gay marriage. She added that transgender children were the work of “the devil".

That last line is damaging & dangerous - compared to the general population, LGBTI people are more likely to attempt suicide in their lifetime, specifically:
  • LGBTI young people aged 16 to 27 are five times more likely
  • Transgender people aged 18 and over are nearly eleven times more likely
So if someone is saying that you're the work of the devil, it's not really going to help the situation and I don't see how it can be defended that it's ok for anyone to say that

Yeah there is a right and wrong way to say it.

One thing that is extremely disturbing about transgenderism is the kids that want to transition at very young ages. Seemingly by pushy parents forcing it on them. How can a kid less than 10 yrs old know what the hell they really want to be? And there have been cases of these kids being given hormones to start the transition. That is just messed up. It shouldn’t be allowed until they are adults, and have the capacity to make the decision for themselves.

But imo those people will never be happy no matter what. Just look at the % that commit suicide after transitioning. It’s simply not a fix.

Using words like work of the devil etc should just be laughed off. Who takes those sort of comments seriously?

I think emo is like suicidal and goths.. are not. Idk
Nah emo's just like the image but don't go all in.
Like pussy goths
If they didn't get a black rose they'd write a short poem about it.
Goths would go and slash up their arm with a razor blade and cut the head off a chicken.

Re the cards me and my bf made for each other- **** that was funny.

My bf made like a "shitty" card on purpose for me. I was like.. "um ok thanks" and he goes "oh HA HA thats not the real card" and proceeds to bring out this other one that not much better.

I give him my card- its like red+ light red construction paper stuck over each other so theres a "border" around the card, with a photo of me and him stuck to the front... then nice writing on the inside.

I PMSL at his reaction. And two cards. :tearsofjoy: :thumbsupv1: :smilev1:
