I’ve recently just ditched netflix cause there was f all on it worth watching. Started using amazon prime instead.

You ask different people & they’ll give you a different answer. I have no problem at all with same sex marriage, but having gone to a Catholic school I know they see marriage as “ a union between a man & a woman “......It’s unfortunately one of those topics where not everyone will agree......Best way to deal with it is just try & ignore what she says & focus on what you believe in.

So yeah...

Things have changed since 2008 then within schools.....Doing the subject RE was a drainer as there was a lot of stuff I didn’t quite agree with. Eg abortion, euthanasia & marriage.....But you know that will happen when you attend a Catholic school as a lay student.

Yeah you have to do RE and you have to attend Mass.

The latter for me as a staff member- but i always refused to read out a prayer. I was approached a couple of times, and i always said no. Which i was well within my rights to do so.

Before that it would have been a general "non discrimination re. gender, religion" etc etc. Covering everyone really.


No mention of homosexuals etc, but i guess it was implied. Now its overt in mentioning it, the principal actually says it at the first GSM.

That’s kinda ironic because I did the exact same thing in Mass, I used to stay sitting down, & only ever got questioned once, but when I explained why I’m sitting down I never got asked again, thankfully I wasn’t the only one....But as you say you had no choice but to attend & do the RE subject.

Haha that’s funny about the day dreaming, I was pretty much the same , & with the sitting down, we were all sitting down during Mass, then once they start to take the bread they asked you to stand & accept it in single file, so by staying sitting it allowed the other students to go past you......13 bloody years ago for me, time flies

I loved it, literally sat there for 2 periods worth of time after all the sermons etc were done....My VCE years were 07-08 so I spent most of the time looking forward to playing footy & watching the Cats in their prime.
