If your not rich, religious or own a business I have absolutely no idea why anyone would vote for the Libs.
Cause Uncle Rupert said so is about it.
The only thing they do that i like, is not buying into the current trend of being ultra pc. And following woke trends.

Beyond that the only thing they stand for, is giving their ultra rich business mates more power to screw over the little guy.

Hey guys- i saw on the HS website Gary and Jordan have spoken about their sons illness. Can anyone elaborate on this?? Obviously i cant access the article

Jordan, Gary Ablett reveal details of little Levi’s disease - JACKIE EPSTEIN, Herald Sun

The footy family revealed more on their beloved son, and the treatments he endures for a rare degenerative disease.

Jordan Ablett has revealed she overcame her fear of being open on social media in order for her son to be a shining light for others.

Ablett and husband Gary, the retired Geelong champion, have shared their son Levi’s journey since being diagnosed last year with a rare degenerative disease.

“Before having Levi, I remember how I used to say that I would never put my children on social media,’’ Jordan wrote on Instagram.

“However, despite my fears around social media, G and I thoughtfully made the decision to share Levi’s journey with you all. When we revealed Levi’s diagnosis back in July, we were (and still are) overwhelmingly inundated with an incredible amount of people sharing their own stories and very personal challenges with us.

“Even those who don’t have children with special needs reach out and tell us how they await to see a photo of Levi and his big smile as it truly brightens their day.”

Jordan and Gary have posted many pictures of their journey through 2020, which included living in Queensland at the AFL hub.

Before Geelong played in the grand final, Jordan told the Herald Sun her perspective had changed having a child with health battles, which is why she became an ambassador for the My Room Children’s Cancer Charity.

She added on her post on Monday: “We know Levi is a light in this world which is why we chose to put aside our fears of being active on social media and instead focus on the kind of impact that we know Levi’s life can have on others.

“We don’t ever want to hide his light from the world but instead, we want to let him shine brightly in the hope that someone else’s life will (through him) become much brighter. Our little superstar!”

In January on Levi’s second birthday, Gary shared a touching tribute that being a dad was a joy and had taught him many life lessons.

“How great it is to be your Dad,’’ Gary wrote.

“You’ve only been in this world for 2 young years and yet you’ve already taught us many lessons that often take a lifetime to learn. From showing us how joy can be found in the little things to how when challenges arise we can overcome them with bravery and a big smile.”

Ablett posted a series of adorable pictures of Levi and added more beautiful insights: “I love the quality time that we share together … whether it’s 2am in the morning while I’m trying to settle you but you just want to play with my face.

“Whether it’s holding your hand at the hospital for another test or when you have to have your daily injection.

“I love it when we fly up and down the hallway together in your chair and how I know your (sic) smiling even though I’m behind you because I can see your cheeks getting bigger and bigger.

“I love giving you your bottle each day while we look into each other’s eyes for a good 10 minutes.

“I love seeing you stand in your standing frame and watching you look to Mum and I for encouragement and then seeing that smile when you get it.

“I love everything about you Levi, you bring me great joy and I’m so proud of you.”

Agree completely, the inherent bias from News Corp is hard to take, & as you say the so called ‘swing’ voters will pick up Rupert’s propaganda & go along with it......Workers rights should be preserved at all costs, otherwise we will keep going in a time warp back towards the slave labor days. Unfortunately some people don’t understand that if you lose unions you lose more & more of your rights.

Yeah maybe but it's a pretty lazy argument.

I can't count the number of times I've heard discussions end abruptly with "But but but Murdoch".

So what? Your enemies can be right and your friends can be wrong. Generalisations don't help at all, except making the person feel smug and superior.

Actually, I think I've worked out why they do it now!

Early night at the tennis - taken from FB

Matteo Berrettini has withdrawn from his singles match on RLA tonight

This means currently the only match will be Barty vs. Rogers

Looks like an early night for all :(

Yeah its lazy but it's pretty much true.
If your not in those demographics they're really not for you.
Murdoch's not my enemy, I get some value out of Sky news and his papers.
I like my Kayo in the winter.
But he favours one side. It's the way it goes.
The not a generalisation. He just does.
Same goes with The Guardian on the other side. Your only getting half the story.

Yep. Have had many the Union argument on here. At least there's someone else on the good side now.

Agree they both have their biases. No doubt at all.

But I hate that an argument from either side gets immediately dismissed because of that. That's just immature and ridiculous. Real life is more complex than that.

I've mentioned it before, but strongly recommend The Righteous Mind by Jonathan Haidt. Delves into what motivates liberals v conservatives. Very interesting read. Helps to inoculate you from the rubbish that emanates from the extremes too.

I totally agree. And I also think its a bit ridiculous taking sides as they are all elite private school types who weren't bright enough to use their privilege to make it on their own. Both sides!
But each side in Australia is suited more to different demographics, there's no doubt.
Most likely if I went to church id vote Liberal, if I loved trees I'd vote Greens, if I was against immigration I'd vote One Nation.
Labor suits the me the most as I like my workers rights.
I'd actually read that book.

I wonder if voting wasn't compulsory in Australia how many people would actually bother.
It won't happen here votes in this country are worth money you put yourself up as a candidate get a certain quota and the $s roll in no matter where you finish it's a cash cow.
