it should be the same formatting

when I've been overseas and texting home I just use the same formatting to text the number as I would to call the number

I also use Skype a fair bit for those sorts of things as it's cheap for international calls & texts

Ok so follow the exact same things as if I was dialling.

Kays, thanks.

Don't forget that mobile numbers are 10 digits long - the area/city code is actually part of the mobile number in the USA

It's a different numbering convention to what we have here where our landline numbers are 8 digits + area code, all phone numbers in the USA are 10 digits, whether it's a mobile/cell phone or a standard land line

How do I text message a mobile in the USA.

I just got the actual mobile number but im pretty sure i gotta add a country code prior??? Do I delete the first number offthe mobile no.?

Halp
Just +1(three digit area code)(seven digit number) Example- +16309695388 +1(630)(9695388)

I have free international calls and texts in my plan here. Better check yours. The person you are calling might get charged extra for an international text. Depends on their provider and plan. My brother doesn't get charged but my nephew does.
