its sort of like richmond, collingwood, essendon and carton leaving the AFL and forming a league to guarantee themselves top 4 every year.

That's not necessarily a bad thing. :p

Would mean Carlton finally return to the finals, but I bet that even in a 4 team comp that Essendon still can't win a final

What's going on with the soccer??

Dumb it right down for a dummy who knows nothing...
Every nation in Europe has its 'Top division' = AFL. And a series of lower divisions = VFL, VAFA, Local footy etc.

Every nation's football is based on relegation and promotion from those leagues. Finish up high and move to the next division up. Finish bottom 2-3 and down you go. Finish really high in the top division and you earn the right to compete against the other top teams from other European nations in a cup competition. Champions League or Europa League.

These continental tournaments with clubs from various football leagues attract massive viewerships, and with it enormous revenues. Some clubs can earn €60m+ just for competing in it for one season. Some of these teams compete in it every year as they earn the right to every year.

What has happened is that 12 of the richest clubs, who collectively have a lot of pull with TV viewing have decided to break away from the established order and create their own league, to replace the existing continental cup competition. But want to do so without the requirement to qualify for it every season as they are guaranteed a place, and want to remain in their domestic leagues.

Tears at the fabric of football. Leagues now have no meaning as finishing up high doesn't get you into lucrative competitions and the lucrative revenue that comes with it, and those 12 clubs now no longer need care about their league as they have bought their way to a new cash cow without needing to earn it.

Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Juventus, AC Milan and Internazionale Milan are the 12 who have taken a flamethrower to football.

If he'd been playing soccer he would've been writhing on the ground with two broken femurs, 4 busted ribs, a dislocated elbow, and suspected concussion from that incident with his ankle.

Lucky he's playing AFL.

Mind you, the future of the AFL game with actors like Lachie Neale will probably look the same.

Dunno if we're quite there yet

Whether you liked his antics or not, such characters create atmosphere, passion, fun, and spirit at the footy.

It's shameful what he's had to tolerate for being passionate about his club.

Footy one way or another is slowly being sanitised and cleansed of all human emotion.
Yeah it's sad. It seemed like doing this made him happy.

WTF do all the tracksuit pants I find have cuffed legs - I really don't like them, and instead would rather simple straight leg tracksuit pants that will go over the top of the fake UGG Boots for when I'm sitting at home trying to keep warm

Just spitballin here, but have you tried tucking your pants into your fake uggs?

I have in the past and it's just not for me - don't find it comfortable

I'm a bit weird (people who know me would probably say I'm very weird), but I don't like cuffs whether around the ankles/lower legs or around the wrists

I've got jumpers & hoody’s with cuffs, and I've stretched the cuffs so they aren't tight

I thought they were crap until I actually bought a pair and wore them, they are way better than the old type imo.
