Training today Observations.

Firstly love the black training tops they are magnificent.

Really working hard on transportation of the ball with speed from defence to attack.

Definitely appears they want Billings in midfield rotations this year ....really good vibe with group

Its not manufactured or invented , they are really enjoying each other’s company.

Steele , Jones , Marshall & Crouch all now in full training , Frawley just running laps appears fine.

Thought Crouch really starting to get in good shape .

Lots of players in good shape lots of pressure for spots ..only issue is Hannebery but the depth in
side excellent .

Stewie; any sighting of Paul Hunter, and if so, any observations of him?

They are playing Tennis ball games , helping eye and co ordination skills ...

Been rumoured we probably having 2 Captains.

14 & ......9 ..

😆
11???
That’s left field 😳
I'm guessing the 11 is a typo.

No chance Clark is a co-captain this year.
9 to 11 is an interesting typo....

maybe he means 1 plus 1 = 2! Now that’s an interesting thought 🤣🤣🤣

Can you believe how good this guy is and that we were previously playing him as a tagger?
It was obvious that he could be more than that given he could tag Cripps but go head to head with him and get as much of the ball and threaten the score board.

Ratten has come in and identified his strengths and got him to play to them - been brilliant for us and fully behind him as captain if he gets the gig.

There's no way Jack Steele would be allowed to keep putting himself up in the media unless it was with the club's blessing.
Not one word from any other player either.

I think tagging made Steele a much better player and helped him address a lot of weaknesses in his own game.

You beat me to it i was thinking the same thing too much air time for a rumor - i reckon they have been testing the water with fan base to see if there is any pushback

Pushback from who ,,, Just asking

Big wrap from Steele on Highmore in that article. I’m sorry I can’t attach; cannot locate the article online and I just read it off an mage that Jay Clark stuck on Twitter. Words to the effect that his intercept marking, courage in the air and ball use makes him wonder how he wasn’t in a list already.

He fell ill in his draft year which more than likely cost him a spot on a list.

He then went on to play some really good footy in the NEAFL. Unfortunately for him it's pretty hard to get drafted from the NEAFL due to the drop off in quality which is why he chose to go to the SANFL where he only had to play a handful of games before being drafted.

In the end he didn't get a lot of luck early but he probably got extremely lucky by going to SA when he did and getting drafted in a year that most 18 year olds weren't able to play footy.

I'm looking forward to seeing how he goes. I've heard good things, especially with how bravely he attacks the ball in the air.
