Me too. Maybe there was too much hype around Witherden but he hasn't set the world on fire. It's important he's given ample opportunity to build the cohesiveness in the side, but if the other boys are genuinely ahead of him and Hurns in good touch, it is what it is.

I thought Hurn and Cole both looked great in the last game.
Cole loves a goal!! He was pretty lively against the Dockera

3 can make it with duggan playing as a midfielder. Even still I personally see that last spot down to Cole or Witho. I think Nelson has done enough with his kicking, defending and 20+ disposals to be there, Rotham gives a lot more utility and much greater defence. Cole is the incumbant and has done nothing wrong but do you go with witho's more penetrating disposal or cole's better defending, pace, agility.
Coley for sure, Witho is the long term Hurn replacement don't need both of them in atm. Need more run from the backline which Cole, Nelo and Rotham provide

I Like Witho a lot but his tank seems pretty average and did looked cooked a couple time against Freo. Expect him to improve on that with us over the coming years.

Yeah I can’t really remember the last time McGovern dominated a game. He’s one of our highest paid players but hasn’t been as damaging as he was pre-flag
Teams put alot of work and planning into him. They even change their game plan to negate his influence as his intetcept marking is what we have built our game plan around. Team tag him try and run him up the ground and block him

Boy, I can't wait for the memes if we name Jarrod Brander as our medical sub and he plays after Josh Rotham comes off.

West Coast Eagles turn to Burley Sekem after issues with new apparel partner Castore Sportswear

West Coast have been forced to turn to century-old local manufacturer Burley Sekem to create an emergency set of playing guernseys, after a premium British sportswear brand backed by tennis star Andy Murray couldn’t deliver suitable jumpers on time.
The Eagles will run out for their season opener against Gold Coast at Optus Stadium on Sunday wearing guernseys made by Burley Sekem, but badged as if produced by new apparel partner Castore.
West Coast signed a three-year deal with Castore last year, replacing ISC.
But the Liverpool-based company, which had never made an Aussie Rules guernsey have not been able to satisfy the Eagles’ requirements over the summer.
West Coast chief executive Trevor Nisbett said the deal with Castore, who partner Scottish soccer champions Rangers and have designs on entering the English Premier League, was secure.
The first shipment of Castore jumpers featured a new-look visible stitching design and blue seam that split the iconic gold wings and were widely criticised by fans on social media — including being labelled “atrocious” and “like a fake you’d find in some market in Kuta”.
Nisbett said the club’s problems with the Castore guernseys related to being the wrong sizes for players, rather than the look, and that COVID-19 issues had exacerbated delays.
The problems have meant several Eagles have played in pre-season matches wearing the wrong numbers and the team photo and other promotional shoots had to be pushed back.

“Some of the sizes weren’t right and we couldn’t take any risk, so that’s why we got Burley to make this other set for us,” Nisbett said.
“Probably a month ago we decided to get some made locally. But we’re dealing with Castore and they’ll get on top of it eventually.”
Castore co-founder Tom Beahon said entering the AFL market had been a “steep learning curve” for the company, which boasts Murray as a shareholder.
“The guernsey is, I think it’s fair to say, a unique product probably in world sport,” Beahon said.
“So for us to come in as a new brand to that, we knew that it would be a learning experience.
“There’s been a fairly significant external challenge adding a bit of pressure, given that Coronavirus has just made factories harder to work with.
“This season it’s only going to go from strength to strength ... we’re very excited about the season ahead.”
A Burley Sekem representative told The West Australian he could not comment when asked if the company had produced the new Eagles guernseys.
Burley Sekem has joined Fremantle this season as their new apparel partner, replacing ISC.

The club don’t often make blunders at an administrative level but fair to say this Castore deal is a balls up.

Signing a 3 year deal with a company with no proven capacity/ability to produce AFL jumpers in the middle of a pandemic makes little sense

That Nisbett is saying the issues were with sizing and not aesthetics given how rubbish the first ones looked is also a worry

Hopefully he is just putting out a bit of spin so keep a positive relationship because they look shithouse - would be the worst looking jumper we have put out and an embarrassment to the club

We should always use Berley. It’s a disgrace that we don’t. Surely our pride is born from isolation or some crap like that.

Also, whilst I’m in the ranting mood, trading for depth is very poor policy. Depth is what your draft picks that don’t make it become. Trading for depth creates a list of also-rans.

Mate they don’t give a sh*t about that at all. If they did they would have covered up their old sponsor like most sporting teams do. In fact they are still training with the ISC logos uncovered.

Just wanted make sure I doffed my cap to you on this one THE A5

I totally under estimated how ****ed the situation with Castore was and you were right.

After nearly 18 years of posting on BigFooty I have finally got something wrong. I blame Covid....a bit like Castore I guess..

Time to finally sack Nesbitt and fold the club

Apparently the original Castore guernseys are so asymmetrical they cannot be folded.

Agree. Why the * are we paying a multinational company who doesn’t know what they’re doing when we have a local company that specialises in it.

Purples have got it right in this case
