‘Aggressive tackle’: Does Hawkins have case to answer?
Geelong superstar Tom Hawkins could be in hot water after a run-down tackle dubbed as ‘aggressive’ saw a St Kilda player subbed out with conc

They already decided Hawkins' penalty?

No cookies is at the tougher end of the scale for a Geelong player.
What a flipping joke the AFL judicial system is.

From 'potential to cause injury' being suspension to this cr@p get the Cat's player off the hook.
Just another dreadful decision in a long history of dreadful decisions

Touk rated at 4 in the AFL on stats insider, only Bont, Oliver and Walsh ahead of him. Steel at 6. Rory Laird since going into the midfield has been incredible too.

Melbourne have two top 10 players, four of the first 21, six inside the top 50. The AFL futures has them flag favourites still. Geelong second.

Bont, Oliver Touk I can take being ahead of Steele but Walsh is in what, his third year of football?

From Peter LALOR'S article in the AUSTRALIAN in 2020

(It probably was posted back in 2020...but upon reading it again I felt this excerpt was just so SAINTS it was worth another post! Weirdly reassuring! to me anyway!)

There’s a streak of dark humour among fans of St Kilda, which is pretty much the only acceptable form of humour allowed among those suffering that affliction.
Supporting the Saints is basically a socially acceptable form of self harm. Moorabbin’s mob knows every silver lining comes with a dark cloud. They are a Russian novel passing themselves off as a football club, every season a long, cold march towards eventual disappointment. Occasionally there’s hope, but inevitably it kills ya.
Louis Armstrong may have played the most recognisable form of the club’s song, an apocalyptic gospel number popular at funerals, but something by Leonard Cohen would be equally appropriate. Nick Cave even more so.
This year the league’s most entertainingly disappointing club is up and about after many years in the wilderness.

(Probably this year more appropriate to say "Every dark cloud has a silver lining though...as we have some good signs to look forward to in the opinion of many)

"McManus will replace the outgoing Jamie Cox as Head of Women’s Football, who last month took up an opportunity to work with the Marylebone Cricket Club at Lord’s as its new Assistant Secretary (Cricket & Operations)."

Holy shit Jamie Cox was still there?

Discusses Billings straight up.

Interestingly finishes by discussing Jordan Clark at Geelong and how it's not just Freo/WC interesting in him. In my perfect fantasy he would be a straight up replacement for Billing should he decide to go.

Touches on Parker and how he's holding out for a longer contract. Parker in, Ross out = happy days

St Kilda
Out of contract (15): Sam Alabakis, Jack Billings (RFA), Oscar Clavarino (UFA), Leo Connolly, Luke Dunstan (UFA), James Frawley (UFA), Jarryn Geary (UFA), Paul Hunter (UFA), Darragh Joyce (UFA), Dean Kent, Jack Lonie, Seb Ross (UFA), Paddy Ryder, Cooper Sharman, Mason Wood (UFA)

Jake Carlisle has almost certainly played his last AFL game, with the Saints not offering him a contract for next year, while Shaun McKernan told his playing peers on Tuesday that he was retiring. Billings is likely to spurn free agency to stick with St Kilda, and Connolly and Sharman are both on track for new deals. Geary is also expected to secure another year but those discussions are ongoing, and there’s some intrigue about Ross’ and Dunstan’s situation. Ryder’s latest Achilles issue has complicated matters but he’s a key Saint when fit and should continue into next season. Lonie and Wood fell short of contract triggers that would have locked them in for another year, but the former has some opposition interest.

How are Clav and Joyce free agents? I thought you had to be around for 8 years or something?
