Let’s hope the next 200 pages is filled with as much prose and articulation as the last thread. Maybe even a trade !!!

the general proposition about trading up is the option we need to pursue, but with one correction to detail, in that I don't understand the reference to our second next year, which went with the CCJ trade (apologies if I've misunderstood the argument). Even if 42 and 47 (and 72 is also worth a few points) can't be turned into anything higher up, there's still good prospects at those picks, so it's still a strong overall position given we will get the outstanding talent in the draft at #1

Merlin007 - yeah the reference to next year's 2nd is whether or not Richmond trade it to get another pick in this year's top 30 to the pies and dogs. And possibly whether they will need or want to.

Ok, to start this new thread. Just a break down of our current list

Basing this off the 36/6 model we ran in 2021

Current Primary list spots: 32/36
Current Cat A rookies: 3/6
Current Cat B rookies 1/3

We're committed to 4 draft picks at this stage.

So we either go 36-6 and not leave any primary list spots. This gives us the option of 3 rookie spots for the rookie/SPP/Midseason drafts.
We can go 37 and 5 and leaves us with a 4/5 draft picks/or 1 spot for PSD/DFA or 2 spots for the Rookie/SSP/MD drafts
Or we can 38 and 4 and leaves us with 4/6 draft picks/or 2 spots for PSD/DFA or 1 spot for the Rookie/SSP/MD drafts

So based on that, Atley and Dumont are probably safe? As we only got CCJ in the trades, and we have 4 decent picks in the draft (ie under 50)

If Atley and Dumont stays, that takes our list to 34 + 4 draft picks = 38. Only leaves 1 rookie spot to select in the rookie drafts.

It was reported yesterday Dumont is done and wont play for the cub again.
If we keep 2 IMO its Ham and Atley.

Atley's management meeting up with the club today to discuss his future according to David Trotter from Hemisphere Management Group

Saints List boss speaks about Xerri's failed move

1:35 in
It's very interesting, obviously they convinced him to request the trade, but it seems an odd choice for X, concerned he is potentially stuck behind Goldy and CCJ, but wants to head to a club where he would be behind Rowan and Ryder. Maybe thought Ryder has less left than Goldy, but the other side would be Rowan is far more established than CCJ. It's a bit like Preuss being stuck behind Goldy heading to the Dees to be stuck behind the younger Gawn. Maybe the security of a contract extension makes it seem like a good move?

Anyway, I'm glad X is still on our list!
