This thread is not to discuss current Hawthorn players and if they are in form or not, and whether they’re tradeable, what you think they’re worth.

This thread is about our Trade targets. Trade targets. Trade targets.

That means players at other clubs we have been linked to, and our interest in them going forward.

I remind you all that we are also not thinking up trade hypotheticals of how you would get it done in here.

No overpriced free agents please. Pay scale is super important. Hit the next 2 drafts hard, stay the course.
Who do we pay minimum salary cap to, given we have already been front-ending for years? Just keep overpaying those on a bottom 4 list? Completely agree about the next 2 drafts but if we can get quality on the list via free agency, do it given we have to hit the cap anyway and our list doesn’t justify it otherwise. That doesn’t need to be a big name, could be 2 decent players instead

I like the idea of turning cap into trade value where possible. Taking on bad existing contracts or paying some outgoing salary to get a better draft position. Not always possible but it avoids giving out unreasonable contracts and shifting the culture.
