I just see this three way trade as consolidating two deals into one. Most likely the Tigers were going to take our pick 40 and package it up for the Dogs anyway, so why not try to lock down pick 17 immediately?

Because other clubs want pick 17 too.

Adelaide supposedly had a deal for 17 that they would have given to Sydney for Dawson but Sydney want more.

This isn't too bad really. 40-47 on draft night will be pretty close once a few picks dissapear from father sons.
Essentially CCJ for a future 3rd happy days.

Keeps the PSD open for anything that may break down late

Caveat is nothing to tazz. But keeps tigers happy.

That's the key... yes can get ccj for nothing but I'd rather trade a third and key psd open... plenty of trades battling at the moment... we could get ccj and a decent psd

While Richmond is pissing in our ear lets do some other trades.

North: Out -> Future 2nd Round
West Coast Out -> Pick 35 & 52 (768 points)

North: Out -> Future 3rd Round and Future 4th Round
Gold Coast Out -> 19, 61, Dead Weight Salary Dump

North: Out -> Pick 35, 40, 52 and 61 (1332 points)
Bulldogs: Out -> Pick 17 (1025 points)

Draft JFH (1), Daicos (2/2013 points), Darcy (3/1787 points)
Dogs would only need an additional 455 points which they will get from the Lipinski trade. Do Dogs want to give pick 17 to someone who will compete against them next year or the wooden spoon team?

North: Out -> Tarrant (free agency)
North: In -> 3rd round pick

Draft: picks 1, 17, 19, 20 + 3rd round compo
PSD: CCJ

Trading Xerri makes no sense. We need depth in our tall stocks.

And don't give me Edwards and Comben who have a royal 1 AFL game between them.
I'm not sure he gets the chances he expects next year if he goes to the Saints.
The Saints want him so Marshall can play permanent KPF.
But Ryder is going around again in the ruck.
He will be a bit part player at St Kilda.

Tend to agree need to give him another year snd with ccj potentially on the books he will be ahead of xerri should comben or larkey be injured to play fwd... so xerri can focus on what he is best at and ruck... even if it is in VFL while still learning and developing... but also depends what Saints are offering.... if we go by tiger mentality then adding a little bit of reality then he is contracted so would be early 30s? Is it worth it

I kinda wish you were running the show.

I'd love to be the fly on the wall when Richmond are dialing the phone to speak to us and a completed trade comes in live...

North: Out -> Pick 35, 40, 52 and 61
Bulldogs: Out -> Pick 17

I'm definitely no draft expert, bit it seems to me that Tigers have way more draft picks than available list spots, do they have to start wheeling and dealing, or is there some chance thay could be left holding some come draft time ?
It was mentioned in one of the AFL videos that Richmond haven't found themselves in this position before, so it will be interesting to see how it all plays out. They clearly want to package picks to move up the draft but so do a lot of other clubs. Worst case scenario it might get to draft night where they're trading them out for unders (future picks).

Correction. Draft NIGHTS. I forgot it's over two days now, fml.

They will be planning to trade some for Dogs pick, but clock is ticking.

Wel off track here, but thoughts on legalisation and taxing its sale? I don't know enough to make any bold statements, but do wonder if it would work.

Coke? Aren't we a self-centred enough society as it is?

It couldn't be worse than what is happening now tho. Drug cartels marketing to the the US build their own infrastructure and act as quasi states but they are medieval in terms of brutality. None of that would happen if it (or any drug that isn't home grown pot) was legalised and taxed or even not taxed just otherwise regulated. Imagine getting a Dr's script for a weekends partying. LOL.

he’d play 22 games and some losing finals if he went to Geelong.

Something must have happened

yeah well all the talk was a trade for late picks would happen because richmond didnt want to water down compo for chol.....
erm....missing the fact we don't give a toss about chol our their compo,,,,all that matters is what compo we would get for Robbie from afl vs what picks they want to give up,,,,,AND they have no leverage over CCJ due to the PSD unless their is another player we are targeting.

I don't think anything has happened, Brawlings has his sleeves rolled up and not in the mood to take crap from anyone when we have all the leverage. What did happen is we finished bottom for the first time in my lifetime AND it appears we intend to use as much leverage that can possibly deliver.
