I still rate Polec as a good offensive winger, one that would have been capable of really complimenting the rudimentary gamestyle we had in the last half of the yea. But overall it was a forgettable season for him, and he does have his limitations at the best of times. Needs to get back to his best in the off/pre season, fingers are crossed he stays healthy during it to give him every possible chance.

He needs to earn his money

Mahony, Turner, Ziebell, Hall, McDonald are all worse footballers than Polec. All make more mistakes than him.

Goldy, Sleevo and LDU are all softer than him too. Like much.

polec is a squib that gets caught on his left foot way too often. He is easy to read as an opposition player.. which way is he going to go? Lol he’s going left, he’s not an ambiturner (reminds me of zoolander)

Polec is your cherry on top player, not a player that is going to thrive in a developing team.

I think once you see North move up the ladder, Polec's input will improve.

His recruitment wasnt made at best time, but there's enough recent talk about the previous regimes, so will leave it there.

Agree - this is what we need to try in pre season - Polec at half back - would give us that skill and creativity we need back there.

Yes we would lose a bit on the defensive side initially but the benefits of his ball use and ability to hit the 45 degree kick into the middle - could be very useful.

It might also give Polec a new lease of life in a career that atm that is heading no where fast.

looks a lot better structured and skilful that what we put out this year.

We arent the worst team in the league.. not finals bound in 2022 but if essendope got there, there is hope yet. If Noble was coach last year and the system were in place before this season started, we wouldn’t have finished on the bottom of the ladder. Cunners plays every game next year with the rising mids around him.. it wont be as lean as 21

Future picks always hold less value too. If we really like someone in next year's draft there will be ways to get back into the second round.

Yep. They hold the least value as future picks and the most in live trading. It’s why 19 was worth more than a lot here thought we should pay.

I wasn't saying that that Hall loses his spot. But it could be an option for Polec to also play that role.

North had the #1 and #16 players in the competition for average meters gained last year. Polec at his best certainly fits in the gaining territory battle and hitting targets on the angles with those low trajectory kicks.

Good teams win the territory battle. It ain't all about midfield clearances and playing him as a tagger was one of the stupider things I have seen in football.

I think we would give him away if we could but I suspect his personal brand is too damaged now. Heap of new coaching blood at the club - let's hope someone can get him into the style we need.

The rotating HB/Wing position which as included players such as: Bonar, Bosenavulagi, Turner, Perez, Young, Hayden, Lazzaro, Dumont, Scott and would put pressure on McDonald and even Ziebell.

If the club did have intel about such an outcome with Dawson, it would mean our picks after JHF in the ND can focus on just a KPB and forward pocket. Or we could just pick best available. We would be set for most of everything else in this (very unlikely) situation.

Dawson would be a great pick up but it's hard to see him not getting to Adelaide.
