Just heard a rumour that there has been a bit of a fracas up on the gold coast between Bing and a few players about his future.
They want him to commit to a future at the suns but he has told them that he doesn't want to delve to far into the future and just take it contract by contract. Apparantly his stance had put a few noses out of joint up there and caused friction among the group.

I know I’m late to the party commenting about this, but if it’s true then it is really dumb. Bing is entitled to consider his future whenever he is ready, especially with 2 years remaining on his contract.

And the lad did commit to the Suns when they were on their knees. That shouldn’t be forgotten. It had a domino effect of triggering others to re-sign with the club.

It’s a bit rich if he is being needled to recommit now. The lad deserves better than that. I hope his Manager is all over it (if it’s true).

Wait til the media gets on board- they will hound him every week.
Already feel sorry for him.

I find that pretty hard to believe , he is contracted until the end of 2022 just like a lot of their good young kids . The only one i could see who is contracted until the end of 2023 is Rowell so no idea who these so called players are with their noses out of joint .

Just realised that during this year's trade period, there will be no flamingos bookmarking things, nexus people claiming ITK status by going back as far as time itself and being best mates with the first captain of the club and every champion since. No sCoops pestering the likes of Mikka, stavro or MG for inside gossip of what's going to happen....then posting on his own site claiming to be the first to know....

What a time to be alive!!
You just wait and see how friggn boring it will be without that bag of assorted nuts to keep the masses occupied. The whole Saints BF board will have nothing else to resort to besides ITK bashing and (more) petty squabbling.
Although, a top 4 finish will see this place turn to a gooey love fest for the whole of the off season..

Gawn off the table.

Reilly O'Brien it is!

Looking at our list it is incredibly balanced. We have 30 players in the 21-28 bracket meaning our age spread will allow us to remain competitive for some time. Older recruits such as Paddy, Frawley & Mckernan, & Robbo (ret), Hanneberry, Geary & Carlisle bring our age up. But most are/will be gone in 12-24 months.

Our midfield is set for over a decade with the age spread covering a broad demographic. Our only short term list gaps are a ruckman to compliment Marshall & a tall defender to replace Carlisle & Frawley. I think a wise strategy is replacing the cap spent on Carlisle, Frawley, Geary, Hanners, etc with Bing (priority #1) & looking for a ruckman in the 24-27 age bracket. Then continue to hit the draft. No need to make any drastic list changes, it’s all about making minor adjustments.

Payne for me

Just on Payne, and I’m not specifically asking you Risky, but has our club ever actually been linked to him?

I know a lot of posters on here like him, however is there anything to suggest he’s even in our thinking? [emoji848]

I like most would not have any idea if the club even know of him , All i know is that we are going to need another key back next year or at worst 2023 unless they think Battle can be that man
Question for everyone , Can Battle end up our other key back with Dougs or is he a bit short ?

Doubt he leaves ....McAsey , Brander ...like Clavarino a lot but just when the door opens he injures himself.

We were definitely into Brander.
The Adelaide people don't rate McAsey at all , Lets hope Oscar can get it happening , god knows they have stuck with him , he looked like a young weitering when we drafted him and its all gone pear shaped since

This is a line-up that could potentially see us over the next 5+ years. These are the blokes who I believe will have the ability to be able to put together multiple finals campaigns

We are commenting this group with different types of players:

Senior Players Could Be Improved Upon: Z.Jones; Ross; Hannebery; Lonie; Geary; Long; Webster
Short-Term Fixes: Ryder; Frawley/Carlsile
Short Term Break-Glass Options: Hunter; McKernan; Wood
Likely Developing Types: Bytel; Highmore; Allison; Byrnes; Connolly

We also have some dead-weight which can be trimmed: Dunstan; Roberton; Kent; McKenzie; Joyce; Alabakis; Clavarino; McKenzie

We are in a fortunate position as the only two issues requiring immediate attention are another key defender and ruck. These are two positions that are usually able to be sourced relatively cheaply. We also have the great luxury of being able to play Battle and Marshall in those positions if we can't find a suitable option.

There is nothing realistic on the free agent table that suits us in my.opinion.

Best case scenario for us from what I can see at the moment:
- Highmore, Bytel, Sinclair and Lonie have breakout years ala Coff/Paton/Marshall/Wilkie the last couple years.
- Ross gets back to his best
- Ryder is able to play another year
- Pick up a promising key back from another club (Payne / McAsey) with the old future second routine
- Pick up best available with first round pick
- Make a big play at a quality ruck in 2022 offseason.
