So Tom Morris reckons Billings is leaving the Saints to take up a contract that only places in the Top 70% of all player contracts.

Jeez - and they actually get paid to write this crap. At least the bulls*** we write doesn't anybody a cent

The bands are as follows:

- Top five per cent = first-round pick

- Top 15 per cent = end-of-first-round pick

- Top 30 per cent = second-round pick

- Top 50 per cent = end-of-second-round pick

- Top 70 per cent = third-round pick

- Below that = no pick

I realise he might not like a reduced contract but surely we’d be offering a contract in the top 70%. He’s not going to leave to take a pay cut somewhere else. Doesn’t make sense.

fu**s sake. Started at lets lose him for a high first round pick now we're at letting him walk for a third rounder. That will go down well.
I would be happy with a pick between 20 - 30
The club thinks the same or even less
Has never been AA has never really done well in our B&F
No good just holding on to him because of what we paid for him
If the club thinks moving him on improves our list so be it

Agreed
Id take pick 25 if he wanted to go
Im thinking his foot has cause a shit ton of his performance issues tho

Josh would have been mad to leave GWS, I couldn't see any other team paying him that sort of money. 8 years is a bloody long time, good for him.
Agreed, I don't think North lose here either. For all the hype around Kelly, he is injury prone and has had one year where he has played to the standard he is capable of - 2017. Even this year, he's got on the park more than he has in a few years, but he'd be lucky to be in the 20 best midfielders of the season. Good player no doubt, but the contract is ridiculous (even though it probably would have been reduced at North).

Yeah, you’d think there’s going to be a huge fire sale at gws to fit these guys wages in. An astute club would be salivating at the possibilities…

would be targeting Hopper, who I think is out of contract this year. Or Taranto, who is out of contract next year. Both could be gettable, both could be elite.

I wouldn’t be expecting too much from Paton next year it’s the sort of injury many don’t come back from . Fingers crossed for him

At least it appears he didn’t have any extra issues with with compartment syndrome, like Gears and Moose had if I remember correctly.

I d love to know how he’s progressing. Haven’t heard anything about him since the injury.
Same with Gresham.
Yeah, I agree, there’s been absolutely nothing. An interview with them about how they’re coming on would be good.
