I don't think Geelong are keen to lose him so would cost something. He's being developed to take over from the old guys, they usually get good value for their cast offs.
They always pull that shit but he has plenty in front of him and isn’t playing, I’m talking something very late and a low base high incentive two year deal.

And I'd rather those younger players fight for a spot than being our only options and then needing to rely on the DFA bin to fill list spots.

Can you consider the concept of recognising potential and making a calculated investment in a player?

It's like getting afl games into promising young players holds no value to you.

If they've got the potential, back them in and give them a chance.

We did it with Max King this year. Look how that turned out. I don't know why you'd need any more proof than that.

At times his form was right off. He wasn't killing it. We persisted with him at afl level because the club believed in his potential and now he's tearing it up.

The way towards a flag and out of mediocrity is to do just that. Bytel is going to be a gun. Just watch. Tough in and under... uses the ball well... seems to have good footy iq.

We need a solid plan to win a flag.

"oh but he didn't show enough in those 3 games in a row and such and such shanky mc'dinosaur deserves his spot" doesn't cut it. Otherwise we would have dropped Max.

Flag.

Where did you get that from? Horribly inaccurate

Just an estimate, obviously I have no idea how much each player makes, this is also factoring in the reduced amounts for COVID. Would be interested to hear which ones you think are dramatically wrong, you probably have a better idea than most.
Ok don't worry

Max King is also one of the best talents in the competition. The rest of our young players aren't. Not compatible situations.

Getting games into young players doesn't mean shipping off the proven senior players who are good at AFL level just so the young players get handed games every week and we continue to sit in the bottom 4 with the hope that this group of young players will somehow be different. There is room for good senior players on the list and for young players to be in the best 22.

If they are as good as many think they could be, then they will be selected ahead of the Ross types. If they can't get selected ahead of Ross, then they are probably not as good as you think they are.

Your asking a club insider to publicise player contract figures on a public discussion board?
Really?

I give up

Deaf ears and all that.

Also probably lucky for Max that we didn't really have back up for him so even when it may have been beneficial for his development the option wasn't really there. The fact we played our Rolls Royce injured this week as well suggests we don't have a lot of KPF depth.

Those of you who know the draft what can you say about Matthew Allison?

He wasn't on my radar, I have an interest in drafting so I was a bit disappointed when we drafted him because he wasn't really someone I'd even registered as an option. His pedigree looks good but he's probably a slow burn project more than an immediate impact type. Libba has redeemed himself with finding Sharman though. He looks a player.

It's why I'd be on the phone to Fogarty's manager. Should come cheap since a few at the crows don't want him fsr. Great kick and good enough mark that you need to put a proper key defender on him

There must be something the saints know about him that we don't as i know they interviewed him 3 times so it was no random pick

He has got the ability to play anywhere. Seems to have dropped off a bit. At one stage he had more cred than any player in the team. Needs to work on his goalkicking for sure. Ratten does not seem like the "experimental" type coach to me nor his assistants so you might not see Marshall at CHB or CHF unless ratts reads it on here of course, then the penny might drop.

Someone posted a little while ago about Roma’s interrupted season - he’s never had a consistent run at it. I’m pretty sure that might have contributed to his not being able to play himself into his best form.

I think he just seems a bit cooked after a massive year and is ready for the off-season. Playing in a pretty ordinary team at that age would be challenging for such a young KPF. His first few months this season were incredible really. Looks like he's a bit tired, has lost some confidence and is a bit unsure with his positioning. I expect he'll be a dominant prospect again next year.
At the saints

It would be nice if he could do a Peter Wright.
