Billings for Cerra, I'd to that in a heart beat and wouldn't expect anything back.
I want to cut the deadwood like Kent and Lonie at the end of the season. I would take a third rounder just to take a kid.

I'm the head of the negativity department and I won't complain. I think we look bottom 4 with how we are playing generally and because we have 2 winnable games coming up in Adelaide and Collingwood with injuries hitting at the wrong time. Realistically only 4 potential wins left for the whole year.

Against Adelaide we won't have a side capable of putting up a fight so extremely unlikely to win it. Collingwood will bounce for pride so meeting them at the worst time as players tend to want to play for their futures. Then the only other winnable games are Carlton who you never know what they'll bring but look better than us this year and Freo to end the year. By then we might decide winning it is pointless and play the kids. All the other games look like losses.

Adelaide jump us on percentage after this week if they win, puts us 15th. Collingwood are a game behind us but if they can beat a banged up Freo in Melbourne they break even.Their draw is pretty hard too, us, Carlton and the Hawks to come but the rest are harder games. If they beat us and beat Freo that puts us third last with a terrible percentage.

Collingwood or the Saints will have pick 3 IMO. Just depends what the coaching changes do for their form. Our injuries have hit right when our easier run is happening.
When you say we have four potential wins left for the year you obviously aren't counting Sydney who we nearly beat at the SCG without key players.

Who knows what will happen but if we finish bottom four people will lose their marbles. It will also mean our players are still playing poorly and haven't learnt to win so would not be a good sign at all.

I think he was originally picked at 5 and has shown this year he is worth it.

He has been very good this year for a 4th year player.

Starting to show he's a genuine mid too. His last few weeks have been terrific.

A 3rd rounder would be good but I'd imagine Freo wouldn't be keen to give anything up while losing one of their best young players.

They might even push for more.

I wouldn't rule it out.

We are a genuine possibility to play a kid picked in the MSD that was playing SANFL reserves 3 weeks ago.

Our injury list is ridiculous.

We are much better that a bottom 4 side but bad luck and bad management might see us land there.

If he wants to come home uncontracted and we offer a top 5 pick. The only thing better on offer potentially would be Bolton

Lonie might get us something back but Kent is literally just cutting out dead wood. He'd be delisted without getting picked up.

Surely Bolton wants to go home and the Tigers are looking at a straight swap but hoping for some sugar on the deal. Freo would win massively in the short term but Cerra is going to be a very good player and at the Tigers possible even a great player to replace Cotchin long term.

The thing that i am really drawn too is he is a damaging mid forward of the centre. A lot of people say that in minutes he can change a game because he has the ability to do maximum damage - whether that’s putting the ball on a plate for a forward or scoring goals himself.

so he isn’t reliant on someone winning him the ball.
That goal he kicked on the run was impressive , has a bit of toe when he puts the hammer down , now its tank time

I'm not ruling it out I'm just saying it would suck.

I just don't think it's easy to flick the switch. Sydney look a better side than us but we did run them close. Sydney people claim they play better away from the SCG these days so with injuries, lack of confidence etc I haven't got it down as a win. I'd say we'll put Marshall on ice for the year and get his foot right, Hunter Clark looked noticeably sore and has suggestions of OP which is again not something you play through. King with a bad back which again put him on ice for now and then really the only noted injury that would get a top 10 player into the side is Jones and he's 4-6 weeks away and then needs to regain fitness.

Honestly 2021 is a write off, I'm not even worried any more, just need to nail the picks and make the future a bit more injury proof. We are half way through the Letters rebuild, I don't trust anyone at St Kilda anymore from being burnt in the past but I have no other option than to hope for the best and give him a chance because we can't stand still. Lethers and Libba have our future in their hands, they are either going to be gods or demons. Surely our luck has to turn at some point and a whole lot of good stuff is going to happen for us. The law of averages says we are due.

Yeah, in terms of the season it definitely would suck.

I doubt Melbourne are too upset with finishing bottom 3 two years ago and getting Luke Jackson though.

They did well in the end and obviously saw an end game. I remember wondering what the **** they were doing, they'd picked up Pruess when they already had a gun ruck in Gawn then drafted Jackson who I absolutely loved but seemed to be the weirdest choice they could make. They already had gun on ballers and defenders that were injured so I guess they saw a KPF/ruck as a priority. Kosi Pickett was a the right fit though, it's one thing they have needed since Garlett, that quick pressure forward who scores energising goals.

OK but Melbourne haven't actually won anything yet.

Look at Richmond 2014. They were 3-11 in round 14. They then won their last 8 games to scrape into the finals. Lost in the elimination final to Port, but I wonder if a culture of winning was established that year. The development of Dusty and Cotchin would have been massive.

I would much rather that than plummeting to bottom 4.

To me that's just not happening any way and we don't yet have a Dusty on the list. We really need some top end players still and it's an opportunity to get a couple in. I wouldn't deliberately tank but I'm not pushing Marshall, Clark and King to play injured to try to finish 12 instead of 16th either.

Didn't they finish 14th the year after though?

Melbourne haven't won anything yet but they look the best side in the comp and having that poor year hasn't affected them by the looks of it.

Sides will have ups and downs, I'm not suggesting we tank or am I hoping we lose.

I just dont think it would be the end of the world and if it were get us a Tyler Sonsie I can see the positive.

It might also be a bit of a wake up call for the club after we chose to fill up with older DFA's and almost ignore the draft for 2 years and didn't feel the need to bring in new assistants to help Ratten.

Mate hop in.

I’ve already filled the tank - I’m taking passengers as I drive to sunny looking 2022 and beyond… (well according to the brochure I’m looking at anyway)

I don’t think any of those clubs had a run home like we are about to have - that’s the major issue here. When you factor in injury lists alone. Which game do we start as favourites in?

That’s why I’m happy to take what’s on offer here - A nice shiny first round pick at the pointy end.

Forgive my ignorance, are there any good players at clubs that are stacked whom we could potentially pick up?

I doubt we play much of a role in trade week this year.

Sounds like we will look to bring players in through the draft.

If anything we might try and find a money ball key defender. Payne is behind a few at Brisbane when they are all fit but is
contracted for next year.

from his 2019 season so he was still 16 at the time.

There are some good kids this time. I hope we don't chase a HBF though even though it looks as though some good ones are in there.

You know what stands out big time in these highlights?

he tries to take the ball forward moving each chance he gets.

as a comparison Billings is a back to goal type player, so when he gets it or marks he is generally needing to swing around.

Lonie might get us something back but Kent is literally just cutting out dead wood. He'd be delisted without getting picked up.

With Kent’s ongoing concussion issues he may sadly join Paddy & Koby with a premature retirement.

I don’t rate him beyond depth but FFS we haven’t had much luck with career ending injuries (throw Robbo & Hugh in for good measure)
