Sad to say it, but I can’t remember a year where there has been so little contribution from ITK’s.
In years gone by we’d heard plenty of speculative trades from credible sources that at the very least gave us something to talk about.
I barely refresh my browser any more
Perhaps there is nothing happening to be itk about.

Do you think we should have taken him over McCartin?

I do...
Nah, we’ve got Billings who only averages 0.5 disposals & 0.2 goals less than him so no, we don’t really need Trac. McCartin definitely the right one to take

Random photo of Sharman ‘2scoops’ Cooper in his second game just to rejuvenate our spirits and remind ourselves of the positive recent performance of the our current talent scouts.

Well it does not help that:
  • No one really wants the players who want to leave us
  • That we only really have Battle and Long as possible trades, and then no one might want Long.
  • As a club we had a crap year....making us less desirable
  • We don't have 2021 second rounder to trade
  • We may not even have the points as yet to draft our two NGA players.

It is looking more like this year may be:
  • Use our first pick on best available
  • Select our two NGA's (hopefully we don't lose one in the to another club as top 20)
  • Pick up some late picks/rookies including a key position defender/s.
  • Hopefully find an upgrade on Hunter
  • Probably lose our next year's second rounder

Part of management is being diplomatic and bringing everyone along for the journey. Creating hostility is a fail as far as I'm concerned. I like a less passive set up but being divisive isn't good either. It might be Dunstan this time but what if it's Hunter Clark or another young gun next time?
No one knows what happened and blaming the club all the time might not be correct.

Why is it we can’t get in on this GC trade dump?

To trade out Future 2nd 3rd picks seems legit if we are after Bing next year.
That's pretty close to mine. I'd probably have Doogs in as untouchable purely from our lack of tall key backs.
Gresh is an interesting one. Few years back GWS were chasing him. With a couple of years out due to injury where does he fit in our best 22?

after an achilleas injury he might not be back at the start of the season. just like everyone else he will have to earn his spot.

Would have gone for Patrecca before him though [emoji15][emoji15]

Fully recovered, and has a full uninterrupted pre season ahead.

Dylan Roberton spotted his potential pretty early on after his first couple games with Sandy.

“He is a really smart player and always seems to get to good spots on the ground.

He knows where the space is and where to go and has a really nice leap on him. He’s one of those guys that you could see taking mark of the year someday."

He's better than both right now and with Byrnes and Bytel you really hope they move into the midfield rather than play running link man roles permanently. I think Bytel is a one position inside mid on top of that. Byrnes seems to be parking in that role for now.
Yeah if Byrnes is destined for that role and nothing more special than that then we need to tick that off on our list. He can be the Ross of the future

So far today,

Ross signs
Billings compared to Petracca
Gresh compared to Ablett

What's next?

Geary signs three year extension
Higgins compared to Dusty?
Clark compared to Ian Stewart?
Strong contested mark, played for Richmond, good kick at goal set shot or snap, instinctive goal sense, can be damaging in the midfield. Sounds like Dusty to me ;)

30d 7c 6t 2g sounds exaclty like a Dusty game

Ross could tag.

See if you asked me IO consider Dusty to be a contested beast. Just gets the pill and runs through and past blokes.

Steeley isn't far removed from that. Dusty just does more spectacular stuff and has done it at a ridiculous high level for a long time.

I think we'd all like to find blokes of that ilk. As would 15 other teams!
Dusty happens to be very good at the contested ball. But I think what’s always separated him is his forward play. Look I hate to talk about Dusty so much in our thread but since he seems to be the new prototype for what makes a successful finals team it’s important to identify which traits we need to find in our list. In the video you’d see a combination of freakish strength, fantastic one on one contested marking and the ability to burst off a standing start then kick either to a teammate or straight through the goals. It’s that he crumbs like Eddie Betts and kicks goals outside 50 like a tall forward. He doesn’t have “can be dangerous resting forward” as an attribute he genuinely makes teams shit themselves when he’s anywhere near 50

The moonballing stat padder?

He got his 2 years so he should be stoked.

I remember a few years back when Xavier Richards knocked back his contract extension to find a pay day, but there were no takers, so he crawled his way back to the Swans & the Swans retracted their offer & delisted him. He then spent the year next playing for UNSW
Nice comparison given Richards stellar 12 game career, but yes two with a trigger for a third is a good result at his age for seb.
