Wouldn't read too much into it since it's Knightmare and his rankings are always questionable compared to everyone else's. Cal Twomey (who gets the best mail from the recruiters) doesnt have him in his top 30 and also has Windhager in front of him.
Agree with this.
ESPN rankings are seriously out of whack and often call up players who are barely even in the the top 40 as inside 20

We got stitched up with the draw this year. Give us PA's draw and we would have played finals.

Gil loves us, and the AFL will surely equalize this with the 2022 draw.

Similar stats... Xerri 6 years younger. Also, don't quote me on this but I believe when Xerri has been in, he's started forward a lot (despite not kicking many goals).
Not bagging you mate but if true , A key forward who doesn't kick goals , moves like a Giraffe

I think we should back in Pauly & Heath as our 3rd/4th rucks on the list. Let's stop pissing about with guys that will chew up a spot or cost too much. Punter with a full pre-season has a little scope and he is a better player than Xerri already.. I would also back Heath to go past Xerri within 6-12 months time.

Having said that, I am still pretty keen on the idea of Lobb (if we dont have to pay his full salary and it only costs us a later pick). If that isn't possible, then let's just focus on the KPD situation.

Yep I just hope we are not to cautious with him, I can see Ratts playing him at Sandy just because
We need to back some youngsters in next year Bytel. Sharman Byrnes Connelly
The difference is out of all the youngsters he’s the one that didn’t have a good game for a young player which the others mostly had. Sharman was better than most of our actual forwards.

I am looking at it from the angle we don't get Bing, and Marshall is preferred forward. Having both Heath and Xerri or even Flynn/Briggs, gives us two potential #1 ruck options for develop. That said, Marshall could end up being #1 regardless of whether we do or don't get Bing.

Thats all you would want to pay at best , is only young though so may have some upside

I take it back , i just saw his so called highlights , Heath would just about have him covered ,

Looks pretty unco here. Tap work has no finesse, just thump it not to anyone’s advantage. Kicking is suspect. He runs like a baby giraffe too. For only a couple years older than Max Heath I don’t think he’s worth it

I agree. Bringing in someone only a couple years older than Heath forces us to play him instead of Heath. New fancy trade and all. Also would be considered a youngster too.

There’s a real myth that Paul Hunter needs a full preseason to be judged accordingly. He’s had a number of AFL preseasons and this is the finished product. Does he improve our list? No.
Will Xerri? Yes.
If we have to watch Paul Hunter run around for us next year, things won’t be going to well at Moorabbin.

yuck.
i really dont wanna go with Paul Hunter again but fmd is it possible this guy might be worse than him.

We’re in the window right now with the demographic of our list & it’s unlikely Heath will be ready to shoulder the load next year should Ryder or Marshall go down. Trading for a ready made depth ruckman makes an incredible amount of sense.

He's right, that's how he was played.

And it doesn't suit him. He's more of a genuine first ruck type.

He's been likened to Mumford the way he plays.

Definitely not a forward ruck
Mummy would eat him for breakfast , is he ever going to be good enough to hold his own in the ruck as a genuine first ruck ? Id say no , if you think so what do you do with Roma ?
King , King , Roma , Sharman . Members don't all fit forward

He looks far better than Paul Hunter to me. I’d say the “thumping” would have been an instruction from either his coaches or the midfield to utilise his advantage in the ruck and get the ball into space. He also shows he can go forward here. We’re watching different videos if you think he’ll be worse than Paul Hunter

I doubt we are bringing him in with the expectation he would overtake anyone and become a best 22 player.

We are looking at bargain bin rucks because we need someone cheap as a back-up option. He shouldn't be looked at as anything more than that.

And unfortunately, that is the standard of back-ups rucks throughout the competition.

Always loathe the compare but … we couldn’t do with a Clayton Oliver clone?

After comments from Ratts this year, do you think we need another ready-to-go slow inside mid with no outside game? We have that already covered.

And with the evenness of that area of the draft, we would be better drafting someone who has traits that compliment what we already have rather than is similar too what we already have.
